I’ve noticed most say that the built in wireless 🛜 charging heats up the phone and slow speeds but mine has been perfect with an iPhone 13+ and iPhone SE with a otter 🦦 case

just sharing! VIN 47xxx

I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max with an ESR case and I've never tried the wireless charger based on all the things I've read. Perhaps I'll give it a go. Mine's a 43k VIN. I'll try with and without the case, then report back.

Do you think it's 5W or 10W or 15W for the built-in charger?

I have a Samsung S23+ with a thin "magsafe" case on it and have no problems with phone heating on the CT charger. I never noted exact charging speeds but I wouldn't call it slow.

Mine overheats the iphone14 and causes the phone to display error “charging will resume when temperature returns to normal”. Not seen this on any other charging scenario.

I don't even try. I got one of those silicon covers for the charging area and put aluminum foil underneath it so I can sit my phone there and it won't charge

iPhone 14 Pro Max with Magbak case no overheating

think the overheating is during the summer when the sun shines onto the phone through the windshield when charging

we’re a Magbak display mount charging Tesla family
We only use the wireless charging pad on occasion

Are you talking about a software fix for the Apple phones that are having trouble? Because it works fine on both our Samsung phones.

I am definitely having issues with my Samsung 22 Ultra as well as my son's Pixel 8. We are in Florida, so the heat may have something to do with it even through the tinted windshield, etc. I'm treating it as a 'between two quick stops' top up charger, but turn the phone upside down and plug the charger in if my phone is really low or I will be driving for a while..

I did just order a magsafe charger connected that lives on the screen to try..

I’ve taken several 1,000+ mile road trips since getting my CT in April and I’ve noticed a better experience with my 2024 phone wireless charging on the trips. It still “heats up” but not as bad and I don’t get the warning that it’s stopped charging because of heat anymore. Yay for OTA Updates? Maybe this was one of the “minor improvements”.
(My CT just got 2024.45.25, so it happened before that update.)

Hijacking the thread to ask if anyone has made a 3d print to increase the height of the base/a MagSafe guide to align the phone properly?
