The car community will still prefer that method over EVs for plethora of reasons, and one of them is Porsche creating synthetic fuel that emits zero-emissions. You still have to ā€œfillā€ an EV at stations if you do go longer distances. Just keep that in mind when you call filling up gasoline or diesel is even more dated, while you are filling up the battery more than 5 minutes at a charge station.
I'm sure he meant "carbon-neutral" and not "zero emissions", since eFuel is made from CO2.
That won't have zero emissions. Not even net-zero. Nor carbon neutral.

The car community is about to be split between grognards who complain about 'the old days' and actual tuners who want performance. EV will beat petrol, repeatedly.

Elon's not coming after car collectors, people who like to play with old cars can do what they want. I look at it this: way: Some people still play around with horse-drawn carriages, but most people don't use horses to go shopping or get to work. Unless you think the Amish are on the leading edge of modern trends. 😳
One of the greatest car collectors on the planet, Jay Leno, was asked his thoughts on electric cars. After making a couple jokes about how they aren’t a new idea and we had them before we had gas, he made a statement that showed he really understands all sides of this.

He said that at one time we all rode horses. And they were treated, for the most part, as a tool. But when cars came along, they didn’t eliminate horses, but they elevated them to pets and well cared for animals. Cars make horses and their lives better. He then said that electric cars will do the same for gas powered cars. They’ll still exist, but they will be something we collect and restore. It will be a hobby, and those that remain will be well cared for, like pets.

Brilliant.

I'm in Calfornia. So is Tesla. Surprise, CYBRTRK is already taken. So is CYBER.

So, since I expect to take delivery in 2021, I settled on 21 CYBR. Just bought it online from CA DMV.

What are you going to get (or got already)?

Glad you figured out that site. DMV madness!

I am pretty happy with mine (even though it will have to ride around on my F-150 hybrid until the Cybertruck arrives)

It takes alot of energy to make. And some of it escapes into the atmosphere. They will probably try to balance their production emissions (if it gets that far) with alot of trading of dodgy carbon credits.
