I’m an avid fisherman. Inshore, offshore, and near shore.. I live on the North Carolina coast and we are blessed with amazing year round fishing. That being said, I needed a solution to replace my 2500 tool box mounted rod holder.

The concept here was to be able to carry many fishing rods, keep the clean lines of the CT when not in use, and to be removable when needed. We managed to arrange 14 rod holders, we used the d rings and a tensioner strap to keep it in place .we utilized crutch style feet to keep the feet from digging in.

When I’m not fishing you never know it’s there.

The holder looks useful to move around too. Send us a photo when it is filled with rods, and from the side - I would like to see your attack angle. Plus, a lot of fishing rods just look cool. Have you considered raising the forward two legs a little so the rods sit in a more inclined stance? It might keep the light rods from whipping in the wind at high speed. I am certainly envious of the entire set-up, since I love fishing and live in a place with essentially no water.

It’s amazing what a good aluminum welder can do!
Now you need an adapter to mount that on a bass pro aluminum beach cart or a way to make it work in your boat! I’d hate to think what that costs to fabricate now! Put a kite rod and reel in that. Looks great.

Just a thought, what about adding rod holders to the bed divider. You could add more dividers with holders for even more rods. Down side is that it could get pretty expensive. Upside is that you can move them around the bed while also dividing the bed for say a big ice chest and etc.

Someone needs to create a rod holder specific for the Molle panel holes.

The offshore rod and reel class I use are 25w, 50w and 80w. They are very hefty, large pelagic fishing reels. They are heavy tackle rods and reels for 50-1000lb fish.
The rod holders and the rod rack has been o be very stout. Not sure how to side mount for the heft required.
I wanted to make something removable, sturdy and tucked away. I searched and searched and no one had made one that seemed to cover all bases.
I think for lighter weight inshore fishing reels a side mount would be very doable. But the toneau track poses some issues as it is staggered and gets closer and closer to edge.
the rod holders are probably 8-10” in length.

I fish from the PiratesCove and hatteras area down to Wilmington NC.

Nice and interesting setup.
I'm wondering how you use it.
Do you cast all 14 rods out at the same time.
or you have different set ups on each one and you like to move fast
so, need to be ready for changing conditions and baits.
or is it just for transporting 14 rods in a manner that keeps them from
banging and scuffing into each other.
do you troll with 14 rods off the shore?
I could just imagine all 14 lines in one big, tangled mess.
I'm trying to see your vision for this thing but it's not working
you're going to have to help me out a bit more here
I apologize for my ignorance in advance.
enlighten me.🐟🐠🦈🦑🦐🦞🎣

We don’t use 14 at the time. But, having them. Available is what is key.50-75mes off shore you can’t turn around to get something you don’t have. We fish anywhere between 7 -8 at a time. There are 2 rods that pull a dredge under water mimicking a school of bait fish . The remainder serve as backups, and replacements. When changing out bait you replace one rod with another. One in, one out. You always gotta have bait in the water to catch fish. Here is a picture of a typical set up. A dredge pole and what it looks like.
in the rod rack are also a few gaffs to hook the fish when you get em boat side . It’s quite a dance. Of teasers, lures/baits. Etc .
I appreciate the questions as I don’t get to go during the winter and dream of warmer days and calm seas.

Nice setup. Ironically I own two fishing boats but rarely fish. The Viking is a big pig with Man's and the freedom lift and dink hanging off the back are not conducive for Lake Michigan fishing. The Crevalle is a fabulous boat and may get some more use this summer.
