What if this was all one big joke, and Elon tricked us into liking the idea of the Cybertruck so Tesla could sell us a bunch of doorstop-themed gadgets made of leftover factory scrap metal...
I got the Tesla Tequila and was keeping it unopened (even tho I love tequila!). The slur went up to about $1,500 β¦ and then it fell off my shelf and shattered. π₯²
Sometimes I worry Teslaβs design team just accidentally made some great design in the CyberTruck - like βeven a blind pigβ style
because everything else coming out of Tesla merch looks like 1990βs Hot Topic merged with 1990βs Gucci, and now theyβre just printing items that only Patrick Bateman would buy? To display next to a samurai sword collection.
No shade on our members buying these, because I donβt think youβre doing so in virtue of their design - I donβt believe you would ever buy these but for the indirect connection to the truck (and having been blue-balled for 4 years)
The 3, X, Y, S, arenβt particularly well designed (aesthetics) cars, which was always explained by the utilitarianism and aerodynamics elements. The CT seemed like an inspired design problem solution (even if divisive - good ones always are). The CT made one think βtheyβve finally shown us what they can do when focused on designβ
but then all the merch, the CT wrap choices to date, and even some of the design changes to the CT itself - but especially the Tesla merch - makes one wonder if the CT is a fluke, and Teslaβs βdesignβ boils down to Musk and Franz getting high and going βbro, know what would be siiiiick??β
