Received and installed the shelf. I love the design and utility of it. It was sorely missing for me and all the kids needs. One thing that stood out though was how thin the plastic is. Felt sort of like a MacBook Pro cover. When reaching for items I sometimes scrape my hand on the sharper edges. Does anyone have any idea what I can line it with?

Something like this would probably work, just look for the size that is appropriate. I don't know how thick the plastic is.

Yeah, if only it was actual brushed stainless or carbon fiber - it would look amazing and wouldn't feel so cheap.
