I don't think it's a secret that there are no plans at present to sell it outside of the US.

They didn't cut off pre-orders for IP addresses, etc. outside of North America until sometime in 2022 so perhaps you got your reservation in before they started doing that.

I didn’t pull the pin until February 2020 when I placed a £100 reservation fee, obviously going to be pissed if we can’t have an official U.K. spec CT after waiting 4 years but I would rather know now than wait and be strung along for god knows how long before it’s confirmed a yea or a nay. Come on Tesla, rip the bandaid off.

I am about 2-3 years away on the reservation and also got an offer to buy a new Tesla and get a discount.

It's surprising it's going to be offered in a LH drive configuration. It's going to be a hell of a long wait for you guys for that...
I'm 7-8 years out on delivery and I'm ok with it because I have no idea how I'm going to pay for it.

Ok, but will that make it easier or harder for the CT to comply with pedestrian safety rules?

As is with around 2800kg, the CT can be used both under the current 3500kg limit (still with 700kg payload) and also over that limit.

The point here was is if it was over 3500kg it would probably not have to follow the strict car pedestrian safety rules, but would also require a light truck licence to be driven in EU. In this instance at least the CT could technically be allowed to drive in the EU at least, if the driver also had the right licence to do so.

If on the otherhand the pedestrian safety rules apply up to the new 4.25t or 5t, then it would no longer be possible to drive the current design of the CT in the EU at all.
