My hunch that the Delivery Day livestream event would be bumped to October appears to be confirmed by Tesla staff validating the Cybertruck off-road.

Roughly another month of waiting…

My guess is Tesla is waiting on EPA certification. It's mandatory to start retail sales.

I can’t wait to see the official EPA MPGe numbers for various Cybertruck electric motor combinations, battery packs and tire sizes.

The 2023 Dual Motor R1T gets 352 miles of range with the large battery pack and 21” tires. Will the Dual Motor Cybertruck beat the R1T numbers?

Sorry but that isn’t going to happen. I would recommend reading @cvalue13 recent post but if you believe nothing else the fact that no application for an event has been submitted to Travis County or to the fire Marshall, and that they have as 45 day lead time, tells us that the delivery event wil most likely be no sooner than the end of October and more likely in November. Sad but true.

There is no way he is going to rush and deliver an unfinished product. If there are more tests that need to be done, then they will be.

Quite often, more money thrown on the project will not help rush the product, if it isn't ready.

Agreed. A good example is the electric tonneau cover on the R1T.

Many felt the complex cover needed more design and engineering time to perfect yet they retailed the R1T to the public.

After tons of owner complaints about failures It’s now going through a redesign and should be available early next year. Rivian says they are going to make things right for the original owners but that move is going to cost Rivian $$$$.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I do think this is wishful thinking.

The normal way is to do a "soft roll-out" to employees, and then a few months later start delivering to actual customers. So if deliveries start next month I would expect customers to start seeing them early next year,

It is a manager's point of view rather than an engineer's point of view. In engineering forcing a timeline only reduces the functionality or quality of a product, but that doesn't stop people from saying it over and over again.

Agreed.

Tesla employees and suppliers will have first crack at deliveries and will probably required to sign a 3-6 month NDA like Rivian did with the first batch of R1T’s.
