CyberTruck Deliveries This Year for People that Just Ordered Them? Impossible!

I am bouncing around on the forums, and see this thread about people from Michigan that just ordered their CyberTruck (a few months ago):

How can Tesla deliver trucks to people that ordered them in December of 2023 expect to receive them this year? That is impossible!

Lets do the math:

Its estimated that there are 2,000,000 Cybertrucks on order.

Lets say Tesla is producing them at 5,000 @ week (which they aren't right now, much less). 5,000 @ week is a goal and is approximately 250,000 @ year. So, a person that ordered last December would be about 2,000,000ish in line to receive one.

2,000,000 divided by 250,000 = 8 years.

I ordered mine in June of 2021, and the CyberTruck database RN reservation number says I am about 1,001,000 in line. So, I would expect my delivery in about 4 years.

As we all know, Tesla is producing Foundation Series now. What I want to know, is this, did Tesla make the Foundation series available to order to ANYONE THAT WANTED IT, back in December?

BTW, if you say, "Dan, that thread you looked at, is for people that were ordering Foundation Series CyberTrucks". I just looked at the thread and there's no mention of that at all....and I watch approximately 15 different Tesla Fan boy YouTube channels on a daily basis for the last 4 years. But, I never heard of Tesla allowing just anyone to be able to purchase a Foundation series = except by invitation only. For example, Tesla employees, famous celebrities, sports players, influencers, etc.

But, why are normal, non celebrity people, saying they just ordered their CyberTruck in Dec 2023 ~ are expecting delivery of their trucks this year?????? That's crazy talk. Unless this is the new math they teach in schools today?

I did call Tesla today and asked them about my situation and all of the above, and the sales guy guaranteed me that the December 2023 truck purchasers were NOT cutting-in-line and there was no worries on that I haven't received my VIN yet. All is well.

So, what gives, are these people deluded? Or explain to me why they think they are getting their truck this year?

Are you referring to people reserving in December or actually ordering in December? If you're referring to the people who actually ordered in December, they're on schedule to receive them this month or in April....it's already happening.

I made the thread. I reserved night of release over 4+ years ago. Got invited to order foundation series on 12/26 and i paid $1k. From Michigan still no vin. No stock. No points and not famous.

All y'all need to do is read the forums and you'll have a clear understanding of the current status of VINs and deliveries. It's actually hard to miss.

I think OP is referring to reserving and not ordering. As he said above, reserving in December 2023 will put the person at the end of 2 million reservations. So I guess he is not referring to FS ordering.

@DittoDan - to answer your question, don't be surprised if Tesla eventually sends FS invites to all reservation holders, including those who reserved this year and are at the end of 2 million reservations. If that happens, there is a possibility for people to get FS Truck this year irrespective of when they reserved; however, all FS orders before them will get the delivery first AND all other reservation holders should have passed on their FS invites. That's the only way late reservation holders can get FS truck this year. Tesla hasn't mentioned how many FS trucks they will make. It could be 10,000 or 200,000. If they make 200,000 FS and eventually sends invite to all reservation holders, then those who want FS this year will get one.

You are confusing reserved with order. Most getting trucks RESERVED within the first few days back in Nov 2019 were put on a list. Fast forward to Nov 2023. In Nov 23 those with early reservations received invites to order. Of course always exceptions for celebrities,influences ect.

Same date for my order and I have not heard anything except a text confirmation...

Dan. Reserving is RN. Done years ago.

Ordering is when Tesla. EIther sent you an email or on the app it said send us $1000 or early on $250 and your time to pay will be coming soon.

Then one waits for a VIN.

VIN is assigned. Line up ducks on how to pay.

Then shortly after contacted from delivery center to say your truck is ready.


No one Reserving in December is getting a truck now. Go to the VIN tracking page and look at when people put in the "reservation", and then look at order date......

Maybe you will see me around MI. I will be here for another week.
