I added this to another thread, but no one has replied:

Just picked up a 2025 Dual Motor Cybertruck.. I have the WiFi disconnecting issue.

What I noticed is, when the vehicle "Goes to sleep" the WiFi disconnects.

If I connect via my Tesla app, it "wakes it up" over the cellular connection, and I see it again connected to my Ubuiqiti network, signal strength -63dBm, the access point is directly above the CT on the 2nd floor, less than 15 feet away, construction is drywall ceiling and floor trusses, with 3/4" advantech flooring above, it never disconnects when the app is active and being used, only when it goes to sleep

I tried the "leave connected when in drive" checkbox, made no difference.

I did reboot it, made no difference

tried connecting to my WiFi network that is only 2.4Ghz, thought that was it, until it went to sleep again.. then disconnected

it is parked in my garage, which is the "home" address, its also plugged in the the Tesla Wall Connector as well.

trying to get the recent software update, which I am hoping may fix this issue.. but it won't stay connected long enough to get it.

Software v12 (2025.26.4)

There’s a site called: TeslaFi.
Normally it’s for users whom love to have detailed metrics for their vehicle: location, path driven, energy used, software tracking, etc.
I do remember there was a checkbox setting to “keep vehicle awake”. Obviously you would have to provide API access to your truck/Tesla account in order for this feature to work.
Personally, I don’t have an issue with my truck “going to sleep”.
Another trick you can try is “keep all (usb) devices on”. This might prevent the truck from going to sleep.

Your truck going to sleep and disconnecting from Wifi isn't hindering or slowing new updates. The updates are pushed, not pulled. So when the truck is ready, they will get a notification. Many postulate that updates go to those with stronger wifi or those who provide more data, but there's no proof to this. People who don't provide update and never use wifi living at an apartment have received the first wave many times. We know that Tesla simply breaks up the updates and your first update off delivery software can come in a few days or even more than a month.

The wifi disconnects when the truck goes into sleep mode by design. Is there a specific reason you are trying to keep it connected?

watched it for a bit on the Ubiquiti web portal, saw it disconnecting/connecting from the 5Ghz network, so deleted the connection to that network, and just kept the 2.4Ghz profile as the only one it can connect to.

I enabled "Sentry Mode", and checked "disabled at home", but it still seems to be active.

set software update to "advanced"

I unplugged it from the wall connector as well

seems to be staying connected for now, of course the truck is no longer asleep, we'll see what the drain is over time

Mitch

P.S. trying to see if keeping it connected and selecting advanced on updates will get an update.
The ancient 2012 Model S would generally always stay connected to the WiFi btw

Update: Recieved a notice on the Tesla app that I have a software update pending, so being connected to WiFi certainly helps. Update 2025.26.7 being installed now. Took delivery on 8/12 about a week ago.

Even if you weren't, you would have received that update, but happy you are getting it.
