It would seem the perpetrator was caught by his own misdeed, so no real need for intelligence unless there is a wider threat. If so a Tesla is probably the last vehicle you would intentionally use to hide your nefarious tracks?

As for EMs message, "positive telemetry" would imply the vehicle was healthy and did not show anything of concern with its systems aka battery which can lead to a battery fire, which some common folk might think looks the same.

No reason not to clarify that, and if he would say nothing it looks like he's trying to hide something. Can't win.

Interesting that he knew so fast that it was rented though. That being the case, he didn't reveal the name of the driver, even though he could probably have found that out too.
Unrelated to this event, this is an tidbit about how much data and how quickly they can figure out things.

I guess I won't be taking my CT to Trump Hotel Valet for CES Jan 6th to 9th!
Probably for the best. I can only imagine the bizarre responses my Cybertruck will get in the coming days.

Seems it was intentional. This video shows the truck bed full of gas canisters and other explosive stuff:
Thanks for this. I stand corrected. I would have sworn it came from the cab. I did not think that tonneau cover was that sturdy. It blowing out the back window glass and coming out under the doors and through the windows really shows how much of a vault that back end is.

I did not see any conjecture why the terrorist did not drive into the hotel lobby.

Simple to do: go in, say "I'll be back", drive path you scoped out.

Hope the injured people are able to recover quickly. Wish less things like this happened that hurt innocent people.
Two of seven taken to hospital, subsequently released. So as things that should have never happened go, relatively minor, thankfully. There's a reported comment by an official that the truck substantially confined the blast. And the video shows it going upward far more than outward.

Absolutely! I just watched the police briefing. He said the same. He also mentioned how not even the front glass door of the Trump Tower is unscathed. CT exterior is intact, and the battery didn't explode as well. The divider between the 2nd row and the bed is also intact. I'm seriously impressed! This thing is a real Tank.

There are a few unanswered questions here in that as an intentional act, it seems more like a suicide statement rather than a attack meant to hurt other people. Otherwise possibly a botched attack that was triggered prematurely?

The combination of accelerants seems somewhat haphazard.

The point is it doesn't seem well executed, from the choice of vehicle (it's meant to withstand 9mm rounds, has tracking and they had to bring their own fuel) to the location and as others of said, they could of driven it inside etc.

Seems more like someone has lost the plot and chose many things poorly and it wasn't a "professional" job.

While I agree Cybertruck wasn’t a great choice for maximum destruction but it was used as a vehicle for terrorism and to link the president elect and musk… it’s not a coincidence it just happened at trump hotel
