In today’s test, I’ve discovered that it’s not doing eye-tracking as much as face-tracking. When I pointed my face at the screen but looked ahead “side-eye” style, I still got the warning. Conversely, side-eyeing the screen with my face forward went unnoticed.

Similarly, I held my phone right in the middle of my view, just above the steering wheel, and it seemed to not to care, as long I kept facing forward.

It seems probable that this could be problematic for someone with a vision-impairment that causes them to hold their head askew.

I definitely get an audible warning when it gets triggered:

It's a bug that happens infrequently. They will iron it out soon.

That makes me think all the alerts for seemingly no reason might be another bug. I don't use my phone while driving and looking in the side view mirrors I get alerts.

Major cheat code:

use the voice commands, they work very very well

I must just have bad luck or maybe I assume too quickly that it’s intuitive, but many of my voice commands don’t work. As an example, you’d think “Open the Garage” is pretty straight forward right? Nope.

And yes, I have MyQ setup since Tesla doesn’t even make CTs that are HomeLink compatible.

I've noticed lately that it's frequently turning off the visual attention monitoring for some reason. Dunno if it's changes in lighting, or a bug in the inside camera firmware, or what. In any case, when it does this it seems to start a timer and, if you haven't given a driving input within some window of time, it displays the "apply light pressure" warning thing on the screen.

I find this message easy to miss if I'm looking out the windshield and daydreaming or whatever.
I have noticed that the 'visual attention monitoring' turns off most often when I put on my sunglasses. Once I apply the force as required, then it seems to revert.

Utter nonsense. The vast majority of FSD users do not agree.
I have been using FSD on my CT for about a month now. I use it for work (I'm in consulting) and I often have a driver. I ask that he engage FSD so that I can smoothly do work on my laptop with the FSD engaged. Even with good drivers, there is a night and day difference in the stability/smoothness of the drive - I often relate it to being on an aircraft when on FSD, where it does not make sudden, jerky moves, with most human drivers.

Why does a service request need to be created? He received the strike because he checked his phone. This is expected behavior.
So a Tesla official can tell him it’s his fault. He not listening here in the forums. Gotta learn them young’uns ya know!

Yeah, and add to the large backlog of service appointments for everyone else in the process. ?

Yeah, one guy can cause a backlog to Tesla service dept worldwide And ruin it for everyone. Sorry I didn’t know the damage would be so widespread

I saw the top of my screen turn blue at least 3 times yesterday while looking at the monitor too long. I immediately turned back to look at the road, and the blue warning went away. I didn't have any problems, and FSD kept working. I never had a strike since June 3, except maybe once in June (I don't remember).

Silly response. It takes a population of pedantic service appointments to clog up the whole line; and creating one due to an FSD strike because of phone usage is certainly one of them.
