I understand maybe giving the alert once and have the user acknowledge that using the gas pedal when auto driving will prevent it from auto braking. But it’s like having an alert in your tv that says “the channel is about to change” every time you press the channel up button on the remote, I know, I pushed the button, it’s my intention.
The system still flashes red and beeps when it actually needs to brake, so it’s not like you can’t just use that as an alert.
I have never experienced red flashing except when I haven’t been paying attention for too long, when FSD has to disengage and I am being told to take over, as d for forward collision warnings. The first 2 might be the same. I guess I don’t understand when you say the screen flashes when the car needs to brake.

Monday afternoon, I had a red flashing takeover immediately warning while I'm sitting still at a traffic light. My offense? I tried to clean the windshield with the lame windshield washer. What was I thinking...

Probably not. The warnings are paused at red lights - so it was probably coincidence and something else happened (obvious or not) to trigger that take over sequence.

Used FSD to go through 5 different towns, 80 miles of highway each direction, and to navigate between 7 separate destinations yesterday. I touched the steering wheel to park, unpark, and engage FSD.
That was it. Never once had a problem.
I may have had “pay attention” flash once while I was adjusting the navigation slightly - so I looked at the road, and then in a few moments looked again to confirm my nav and was all set.
FSD for 4 years, zero strikes. It’s not hard.

I have it flash red at me when I'm in FSD and I push on the accelerator to get up to speed when it's sitting at 10 mph lower and I have someone behind me. No blue warning. Just immediate flashing red. I try to let it make choices, but sometimes it refuses to get up to speed. Disengaging to simply get up to speed seems silly, but I know there's a risk of it yelling at me.

if your max speed setting is slower than you're pushing FSD, it will do that - haven't had that happen otherwise.

Has there been any correlation to eye shape? I have narrow eyes and sun sensitivity so I have to squint even wearing sun glasses. I get a lot more warnings than my wife who has rounder eyes. I also got a strike watching the road and if there was a warning in the screen, I didn’t see it because I was watching the road. Although I suspect it thought I was nodding off with my squinty eyes.

I tried FSD with my eyes squinted, so that I could barely see. Nary a peep ?‍♂

Tesla should reduce the monitor attention requirements where at road condition is very safe for the driver and passagers, for example bumper to bumper traffics.

I haven't figured out when attention monitoring turns off during sunglasses - I rarely get the wheel nag, but my associate gets a wheel nag 1x or 2x per minute, and it is very annoying. It's not the sunglasses as he tried to wear mine and the same result. He is a bigger guy than me. I can't figure it out. FWIW - I can literally close my eyes in shades and it won't nag me...

Yes, there is and I too wonder if it's a bit of a factor; though the system is sophisticated enough to detect racial specific features. Lots of Asians driving Tesla's, after-all.

How much seat time has your associate put in with FSD so far? Very little?

Yes very little seat time....I didn't realize FSD monitors specific drivers...when strikeouts count for the vehicle, regardless of drivers.

I can’t use sunglasses either. If I put them on it starts nagging instantly. Pretty annoying but I don’t consider it a huge deal as we’re probably getting unsupervised soonish (at least here in TX).

If I look at my screen more than 1-2s I get a warning. No chime, nothing but the single line message. On the 2nd+ warning, I get the blue flashing. If I don’t violently shake the wheel I get a strike. I had 3 strikes the first day of ownership, and was in jail on day 3. I read online where people comment that I must not be paying attention, and that they have never gotten a strike, or can even imagine how poorly I am paying attention.

I watch a lot of YouTube videos of FSD drivers and they mess with their router for 10-15s with NO warning. WTF??

Suggestions?
I have 4 strikes
