If anyone's been procrastinating on reserving a Cybertruck, this may help give you a nudge. Last night, Musk announced that the Full Self Driving (FSD) option will rise by about $1000 worldwide on July 1st.

So if we have Pre-Ordered CyberTruck, are we actually guaranteed the $7K FSD price?

So I need to add it to my existing pre-order before then I guess. I didn't opt for it initially.

Yikes. I edited my order to add FSD. I'm still not sure I want it, but I suppose it doesn't cost extra to lock in the $7K price while we are waiting.
Yeah I’m not planning on going with FSD but I added it just in case...

It isn't going to do what people think it is but it does a lot to relieve fatigue on long drives just by managing speed and lane keeping. Sometimes the automatic passing even works. And someday the other features will probably work too. It is a bit painful at 10% of he cost of the truck, though.

Why Not make it $10k? Get fsd level5 working than we can talk about what it's worth. Otherwise its snake oil.

Auto pilot does this and it's included for no extra cost.

So $7k for features that work sometimes and possible future features... yeah

That's a good point. You can always cancel it the day before accepting the contract but you won't be able to add it back for $7,000 after the first.

I believe we are guaranteed when it is the option in our reservation. I am hoping to have this truck for a very long time, and with how easy the battery swaps are on Tesla, I expect that even the battery won't impact the useful lifespan of the truck =)

It isn't going to do what people think it is . . . . .
. . . . It is a bit painful at 10% of he cost of the truck, though.
Well, Tesla and Elon make it explicitly clear that 1 day it is going to make the car drive itself.
Level 5 Autonomy. Thats what it is, or more accurately what it will be.
And he states it will be here this year (functionality achieved this year) !
And begin rolling out at least in 1 jurisdiction !
(Although he may now be pushing that out to 2021 )

We will all be able to have our car subscribe to the Robotaxi network on an ad-hoc basis.
Thats exactly what Musk explicitly says FSD is going to do.

That's why he also states when you buy FSD in future it will cost more and more the closer Tesla are to finally delivering it. Until the day its here and they then will charge customers over $100 k for it .

A value which is reasonable if you consider what a taxi license is worth,
and or an Uber driver is worth, (for any nominal term, say 3 plus years ).

Otherwise, paying for FSD today is a total and utter rip off at $8 k U.S.D without Level 5 Autonomy.
Paying $8 k today for FSD for the actual functions it comes with today, is a total and utter rip off.

I don't believe Tesla and Musk have any intention what so ever of ripping any one off,
I believe Level 5 Autonomy is coming, he may miss the timeframe he has outlined,
but I'm comfortable waiting until my Cybertruck is ready. Maybe 30 months away, the year 2023.

In a sense, the car has no value, the FSD has all the value.
Without FSD the car will depreciate. FAST as all other cars will depreciate that aren't Lv 5 Autonomous.
With Lv 5 Autonomy it will appreciate. It will be an income producing asset.

Valued accordingly. At over $100 k as Elon put it, once again, just yesterday !

Its easily a 'shut up and take my money" proposition, especially when you pay absolutely nothing for it today, while your're waiting for your Cybertruck to be produced :)

P.S. Come July 1, it will be around $10,000 in Australian pesos. (around $14,000 after Luxury car tax !)

Are you aware that Tesla has yet to achieve Level 3?
Do you know how many years full featured was promised for "later this year"?
Are you interested in learning about some fantastic real estate investment opportunities?

FSD is half the reason I want a Tesla in the first place.

I do about ~100 miles a day in an f350, so I'm expecting to cut down my driving exhaustion with it.
Good point. I wonder how much it'll help with those long drives. I also drive an F-350 (It's for sale right now, btw. LOL)
