You'd better believe that auto companies, and many other companies in other industries, are doing "dark" PR. That's when they do things like, have a 20-40 person crew filled with people with NDAs who do nothing but comment negatively on competitors. Each having a quota of minimum posts that they must meet at selected websites.

Notice how no one said a word about the window and lights that were clearly taped to the vehicle when Doug DeMuro did his Hummer review? Yet, a prototype windshield wiper with monitoring and testing cables has garnished so much negative attention. Imagine if the CT had gaffers tape holding on the windshield and lights in place during this "leak", not even a "review" of a shipping product.

You'd better believe that at least 75% of internet vitriol comes from paid astroturf comment farms.
This is one of the reasons I try hard not to get into arguments online. It's generally not beneficial to get into arguments period, but even less sensible online with a stranger.

Spending $500-$1500 a day for 100-300 negative comments everyday for a year across multiple forums and niche websites is still 1/10th the cost of a 30 second Super Bowl ad. As a matter of fact, it's probably similar to the cost of a 1 month ad run during a top rated primetime TV show.
This may be true.

Personally, I don’t think they need it. Most of the media covering the auto industry have a symbiotic relationship with the industry. They give good press for big auto, big auto gives them exclusive content, “Long term demo” cars and often pays for their travel expenses at media events in nice/ luxurious places.

Tesla doesn’t play that game. Tesla is an outsider threatening all of that. It is natural for the symbiotic entities to protect the whole.

YouTubers have similar conflicts of interest. Play nice with the manufacturer or lose access to the expensive toys you need to review to maintain your channel. Tesla does play this game a bit, but less lately.

I’m not a comedian and do not claim to have “good” jokes.

I agree that gender is waaaaaay more complex and there is more to it than just M/F. But we are talking about a truck and something being expressed about that truck by some unknown persons. If you would prefer some other body part to be attached before anyone thinks the truck is female that is fine. But in the absence of more complete data, when a child is born (these days it’s actually back at the ultrasound) the doctor assumes the gender of the child based on body parts. In my experience, the ultrasound technician will look for a small appendage to declare male and the absence of such appendage as female. This truck is basically still in a gestational period so all we have to go on is what we see.

It often isn’t till much later (certainly after birth but also after they start showing preferences for things, or making self identifying statements) that the child will start to express that an actual gender starts to show up.
Assigning gender to inanimate objects is strictly a human contrivance.

So I am fairly convinced the frunk opens with the lightbar and grill attached. It moves forward before lifting. This forward motion allows it to clear the wiper better and allows a very tight gap.

Something I loved to point out before is that the 'grill' area as you called it - really it's some sort of front facia - is almost already shorter than the Lightning bumper at the top end. If they were able to retain the crash functionality with it as part of the hood, it would be the lowest trunk/bed floor on a truck.

None of that stuff requires any interface with the vehicle. I would hate for the car computer to get bogged down by extraneous demands from a rear console. Same with Video games for the front. I am really glad they disabled them when moving and surprised it took so long.
The UI computer is not the same as the driving computer is not the same as the motor controller is not the same as... While Tesla does use fewer independent controllers, they very much use different processors and process priority for different applications.

That's why Model S that had the computer failure problem could still operate their driver controls and windows and locks. Independent processes when needed.

In a week or two. And the pictures of the bed will end the discussion of whether they are tee slots.
In the actual production model the bed is cast aluminum, and won't look like the hand-built prototype...!!!

It’s not entirely clear if the bed surface will be the top of the Giga cast or if the bed will mount on the Giga casting. Looking at the bed, seems like it could be either cast then sprayed with something like LineX or some kind of polymer that is adhered to the body and frame to form the bed.

i really hope the covers come with it. that design actually makes it look like it is from space
I think the wheels in the top picture don’t go with the CT style at all so I agree with you. We either need the covers or a more compatible wheel

Wait… the **wheels** make it look like it is from space?

The wheels are about the only normal part of the truck!
Yeah, the truck is from space. Found some regular wheels to roll around on once it got here.
