Great catch! I think you are right. And the lack of a driver display was one of the few things I didn't think I'd get over that easily. If a model 3 had a driver display, it would be so much more appealing to me.
I hope so! Would be just epic ?

Don’t know if I missed this in the prototype but there is no tailgate handle.
In the prototype it looked like they pressed a button on the sides (near the buttons for toneau cover extend/retract) to open the tailgate.

I think this poor guy will be interrogated for sure.
I thought I saw a name tag in one of the reflections. I am pretty sure these guys signed a no pictures acknowledgement in orientation. If they actually broke the rules they will be removed from site. But then again, this phase is close to completion so who cares.

On the other hand. "don't take pictures of this unattended billion dollar truck" wink wink. Might have occured.

I'm not an engineer so don't get all offended but now that i look at it i have to wonder how this could be an exo skeleton? Wouldn't the body have to wrap all the way around like an airplane? Once you remove the doors, glass, frunk, and tonneau cover there doesn't seem like enough body panels to be structural. Enlighten me if you have the patience.

I seem to recall they had to manually lower the tailgate one way or another, it wasn’t motorized as they imply in the video. Cannot recall if it was a button release or a handle. Regardless, it looks fantastic here.

honestly hope the plaid and quad motor is the aggressive big one and we dont get a size reduction. this thing needs to be a monster on the streets. no one wants a baby truck.
Agreed. Tesla designers Benchmarked the ram TRX in development which is a much much larger truck especially in width of what we are seeing here.
If smaller than an F150 it will lose credibility instantly as a viable work truck and get lumped into the Rivian Tacoma category

Making more sense of two size versions Earlier

I was surprised in the reveal that the tailgate wasn't motorized coming from the same company that made the Model X Falcon doors.

From the original Prototype, I think they hit the triangle button to open the gate. But yes, they manually lowered it.

I hope we can by the rubber inserts that slide into the tracts and just replace them annually.
Perhaps the wiper blade has a cam in it and as it sweeps across the windshield, the cam extends the blade end a few more inches, then retracts it at the proper point to avoid hitting the body.

In my experience, 6+ foot bed which is at least 4 foot wide is “Work truck”. This almost certainly meets that expectation.

I would be willing to bet a lot $$ that a waiver was signed. Another poster indicated it was intended to be photographed and leaked; what a childish way to run PR if so. We'll know more Wed.

I have never been to a Tesla plant, but I have to imagine it is similar to other assembly plants I have spent time in (e.g. Airbus). Even having your phone out draws unwanted attention. You have to have a camera permit to have anything like a camera out taking pics, and getting one of those is like an act of congress. And the surest way to get fired on the spot would be to post a picture/video (like this) on social media.

And plenty of other places might say "wink wink" No pictures... I don't think this is that kind of place.

They'd likely have to be bought from Tesla since I've never run across 6-foot wiper blades at my local autopart store. :D

There is also a story on Telarti? about off loading the CT. You would think that would have come out a couple minutes after it was shot. Maybe that is the Wolverine and they will show both. Again, how hard would it be to offload inside if it was an actual secret.
