The first Cybertruck to be auctioned at Manheim sold for $244,000 to Porsche Orlando.

That is unfortunate, will likely start to open up the scalper floodgates as so far it does not look like Tesla has been pursuing resellers, at least not that we can tell. $244k is enough of a markup to be a significant motivator to scalpers and could really disrupt the delivery of the first 100,000 vehicles or so.

This is the true market value, like i said quite awhile ago, even ADDING 20k, current FSCT price still way under the market value.

CT is not another EV or automobile…

I bet Tesla was watching this auction and intentionally let it happen to check the market as well.

Holy Guacamole, Batman. A 144% markup? Not a bad gig if you can get it. Maybe the delivery will have to get delayed a year?

what about the NO-SALE clause ??
:unsure::unsure:
Tesla just typed that clause in... But now they would have to get a Judge to render a judgement in their favor, then enforce it, all based on the laws of the State involved? Bet ownership been papered up and it's changed hands twice already through LLC's... Good luck.

Looks like any reservation holder is taking a huge financial loss in not taking delivery.

The buyer has to pay more than $244,000 because they need to pay auction premium to the auction house as well. I don't know the percentage for the automobile but for antique, the premium is usually 25%-28% of sold price.

This is not the true market value. It would be funny if Tesla bumped up prices another $20k though

I would suspect Tesla is doing this to see how much people (wealthy people) are willing to pay for the CT, No waiting like us average folks!

Who knows, market value is all demand driven. So we only can talk about the true market value as we speak now.

Tesla might bump the base price for another 20K without any add-on.

yep, not very long... and untested in a court of law. Court case might take a couple years? Likely to be appealed.
