I can’t help but think that most of us here would chase it until it stopped and then talk to the driver.

Aren’t taillights supposed to appear red even when off?
No. I think that is called driving lights. Most cars either have a light sensor and turn them on at night or when you turn on your headlights, the driving light condition turns on and the break lights partially stay illuminated. Once the breaks are applied they get brighter.

The oil canning is going to be an interesting change in the auto scene. I am willing to bet that’s why most vehicle body panels began to be curved in the first place. I do wonder what the CT would look like if the panels had a very slight curve to them

I think you need reflectors somewhere but taillights dont have to be red

Then that’s changed recently and I’m glad.

I got a ticket in 2019 for some aftermarket twilights that were clear but lit up red

Not sure where you live but you should have fought that ticket.
Edit: a lot of cops aren’t aware of what’s allowed. The list of what’s not allowed is too long to bother.

Thanks for video OP. While it's nice to see I am observing the background hills. They are green ... so different from the baked brown hills we usually see! The rains we read and hear about have made a difference.

Cops write tickets...
...they don't write the rules. They are often wrong. NYPD famously issue tickets to cyclists (and most people paid them) for 'not using the bike lane'. There is no such law.

This was never the law. The reflector has to be colored, but it's always been the case. Just functionaries being jerks.

unfortunately, the police are the least familiar with the law. As one told me .." We aint lawyers, were cops"

I love the police and happy to have them around but I am always gaurded around them .
