Tesla Cybertruck CyberTruck - Tesla light bar glue fail IMG_7986

I was hand washing my truck after a roadtrip and noticed the light bar was loose. I have never taken it through a car wash. I had been in desert where it was 114f but still very disappointed that Tesla could fix it properly, given how much we spent on a Beast Foundation. Seems they rely too much on glue.

has anyone else had this issue and what did Tesla do, did they try and reinstall with proper brackets or clean of glue and not reinstall until they have a better solution.

From reading other’s posts, it sounds like they will reinstall a new one. Btw- if they do, can you ask if you can keep the old one? Id be interested in purchasing it from you (id like to try to fabricate a bracket mount, but i dont have one and i dont want to buy one new)

Plenty of these situations going around. Hope they find a permanent fix for this issue.

If it can be installed on a bracket instead of on the glass w/adhesive, there might actually be a market for this - until then, I'd never put that on my truck

Tesla really should just embrace the superiorly-designed offerings by the aftermarket and open the API to 3rd party suppliers.

I was told yesterday that they have switched the glue they are using and having issues getting it.

I have wondered why Tesla didn't design the lightbar to be glued like it is but also with simple snap-in tabs on the ends that make it snap into place on the windshield. Seems like a simple tab sticking down the length that the glass is thick with a little angled piece to "grip" the glass' bottom edge. It seems just that would be about enough to hold it from popping forward but still be somewhat pliant. Glue (or a tab along the top of the windshield that, if nothing else, simply fit into the groove just a little to keep it from sliding) would keep it attached officially... But those tabs would keep it from lifting.

No doubt, mine flew off while on the highway https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...t-lightbar-email-arrives.45927/#post-30631439
