I’m pretty satisfied with the notion that you’ve identified all GFTX units built to date

if you’re saying that it looks like S-series are pending, that doesn’t surprise me

can you double-check my work on the number of Beta’s? Feels like I’m still not yet understanding the website system/info correctly?

plus I’m doing them manually, from my iPhone šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

why are you starting with 5YJ rather than 7G2?
On the hunch that you were coming up empty on 5-series using the 7G2

The 5YJ is Tesla’s other manu ID.

While historically the 5YJ is associated with production M S and M3 (eg cars), for a pre-production beta being built at Fremont it seemed possible they could be using the 5YJ for the Fremont betas

Interesting that the showroom units are dual-motor, but have the two-tone interior. I guess speculation that the two-tone (white dash) interiors are exclusive to the tri-motor is wrong

Who's knows how many or what type will be delivered at the event. They still have a lot more customers waiting so just thankful to see some customer (or insider) VINs going down the line.

I’ll happily stick by the assertion that all normal retail units will distinguish dual/tri by the latter having white trim.

as I’ve said elsewhere:

dolled up these showroom units with some special bits and bobs not typical

These units are non-standard issue in their configuration. Hint of what’s to come, early on.

EDIT TO ADD: that said, this is Tesla, and things like trim colors are completely fungible decision (unlike, say, adding a midgate). These things are subject to change - including if/when the public squawks and Tesla reconsiders later.

Folks might note, however, that, according to the VINs found so far, only a handful of tri-motors have been built, and of the sightings of vehicles in the wild or in the outbound lot. So far, only a handful of white trim vehicles have been seen.

not to mention, for what it’s worth, while we have seen both duel and try Vin numbers, the trucks have had no other external differentiators, badging, etc.
