This post is meant to be humorous, but we did actually have an issue this morning that I'd like to know if anyone else has ever seen.
The wife has a long trip to a specialist appointment today, so yesterday we sat together (with her in the driver's seat, her profile set as active) and entered the address into the Navigation, and saved the address as a Favorite so that it would be readily available. Then we went over how "easy" it is to get it going in just 3 clicks (Navigation field, then Favorites, then click address).
So she departed early this morning, and about 15 minutes into the ride I get a phone call from her stating the address has disappeared, and only the keyboard appears on the screen when she clicks the Navigation field, and that the Recents/Favorites lists have disappeared, and she can't get the keyboard to go away and she can't find the Favorites no matter what she does. Sigh.
I'm sure there's lipstick and powder flying everywhere as well while she's trying to do this, so at this point I'm afraid she's going to run off the road with so many activities going on. So I finally got her to pull over so we can FaceTime and she can "show" me the screen. Sure enough, only the keyboard appears when she clicks the Navigation field, and the Recents/Favorites list is gone... nothing appears except the keyboard.
I'm stumped. I have no idea how she managed to get it do this, or if it's a software bug. These types of things NEVER happen to me, but it seems she has extra-special super powers to do "nothing out of the ordinary" but these types of things to ALWAYS happen for her with almost anything you can think of... but I digress. When she gets back, I'll check and see if I can figure out what's happened with the Favorites, but was just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue with the Recents/Favorites menu disappearing?
I ended up walking her through typing the address in manually and got her going thank goodness. Then I explained that, for safety reasons, she should always set the navigation before she departs to make sure she's not trying to do this while she's driving. There was no response to that suggestion.
She has one charging stop along the way... please work, please work, please work. I've got a few hours before she gets there.
On a positive note, my wife can now miraculously back into parking spaces and parallel park! I shit you not! And she does a great job of it whereas she was always scared/leery of it before. It's like her brain naturally "gets it" with the 4-wheel steering and she is always saying how much easier it is to drive/maneuver. It could be that she was "forced" into learning to back into our home parking spot so that it can be plugged into the charger, but I'd never been able to get her to back into a parking space before because she's always said it's "just too difficult." She loves that she can "see where the back wheels are going" in the mirrors when she's backing up. Her Dodge has barely moved since she figured out how to drive the CT. I think we're going to need another CT.
P.S. Not complaining about the makeup because it always makes the truck smells good, but could use the FSD for safety. LOL!
