With production starting or just about to start, what are your thoughts on the possibility of some of these early trucks becoming dispay units at Tesla centers around the country?

If not these early ones, will it happen at some point in the near future, i.e. did Tesla do that at launch or soon after the launch of other new models in the past?

I'd love to see one in the flesh at a Tesla center soon rather than just relying on sightings of them on the streets when deliveries start to happen.

I'm with you on that... I know I'm not a day oner but would love to just spend a couple of hours admiring the trunk on display and learning every menu before I get it.

low possibility

the trucks on transports have been in pretty rough shape, as may be expected of validation units that are being sent into walls or used as FSD validation mules, etc - don’t need to be pretty

but to be sending these early RCs out as first impression units in showrooms?

they just had one of these units fully dialed in and dolled up for executive review, and the result was the executive sent a company wide email saying flaws stick out like sore thumbs

Id say a few similarly fully finished out units may get used for promotional materials (like the Iceland video shoot), but the bull of these on transports are not more than “twelve footers” (ie any closer and they start looking like sore thumbs)

Yes, I agree that the units coming out right now are probably not good enough to use as display units.

Do you know if it is in Tesla's playbook to send out vehicles to the centers for display purposes when they get the line dialed in and start production to the public?

For example, I wonder what the approach was with the Model Y?

Thinking just from the business angle, why would they? There's a long line of people begging Tesla to take their money, why deny that deep pocket person* their CyberTruck so they can show it off to people who are so unsure whether they want one that they want/need to see it first?

*like me!

I don't know if Tesla makes choices like Legacy does. But think about having the most popular vehicle release since the 1964 Ford Mustang.
That's a lot of interested customers walking in your dealership. Why wouldn't you want to satisfy all that curiosity. And besides, it might make life a little easier on the early owners. Otherwise, we are going to hunt them down!!!! 🍻

Yes, I see your point. If there are no display units available for a while at the start, I'm pretty well plugged into my local car show/ cars & coffee scene so I'm sure I'll see one almost immediately when they start delivering to the area.

Any to be delivered to Canada?
You drive on the left of the Street !?!?!?
Or, like the UK, you can have Left Hand Drive cars as well, on the same roads/lanes.
Edit. I see you drive on the right, like United States. Hope they cross the border soon. ( The Queensland Cane Toad has made its way to Sydney, l think.) ;)
