Took delivery yesterday. Really pleased with the build quality and panel alignment. Must not have been built on a Friday.
I asked a few questions that I thought may be of interest here. Hawai’i has received about 60 trucks. 10 are headed to the Big island. Ten or so are headed to Maui. A few to Kauai and the rest will remain on Oahu. Of the 60 Trucks only 3 are CyberBeast.
Tesla is shipping to Oahu but if you live on the outer islands you are responsible to pay to have the vehicles shipped inner island. My additional shipping to Maui was a little over $600 (roll on roll off) palletizing the truck or putting it in a container are extra.
I flew over to take delivery in person but as of now they will send photos and ship for you if you prefer. You’ll still pay of course.
Drove the truck around on Oahu and had a blast. Really exceeded my expectations. Quieter than anticipated. Quicker than expected. Really comfortable. Looking forward to its arrival in Maui after the weekend.

Excited for you. My daughter lives in Honolulu and I visit her twice a year. She saw the LAVA CT and can’t wait to come home and drive my CT.

Oh wow this is new news to me. I live big islands and have an AWD CT arriving the first week of August in Oahu. Up until your post I’ve been told I’ll be having to island hop to accept delivery & work with young brothers on getting the inter-island shipping lined up with my est. delivery date. The quote I have to get it shipped into kawaihae is 1200! On top of that there’s over a month wait.
I wish they would have given me the option to accept delivery at the San Diego port and from there they could have just shipped it directly to Hilo. That way my $2,000 delivery fee is actually getting the vehicle to the island I live on. It would also help me avoid the possibility of multiple island hops to accept, and then ship the vehicle. But if what you’re saying is taking effect soon it will for sure help my situation!

When you are contacted by Tesla Oahu have them take detailed pictures of the truck and ask them to arrange shipment. Trying to get a YB ship date to align with delivery is a nightmare.

Congrats on the delivery. We're on Maui and were contacted weeks ago that they are scheduling the delivery date for our CB. Haven't heard back yet, hopefully any day now? Haven't seen any CT on Maui yet, will yours be the first?

You Hawaiian's sure love your Tacoma pickup trucks.

Every time we visit we can't help but notice the Tacoma's popularity on the your islands.

I know for a fact there is already one here at least. It has a red or pink wrap. Unsure exactly which but it is AWD. I will have the dubious honor of the first Cyberbeast on Maui.

Toyota is the official truck of Hawaii. The older the more desirable.

#1, that's awesome. Hopefully we will get #2. Any advice on dropping it off at the port for shipping?

Not gonna lie. I went through a nightmare with scheduling. The big hangup for me was the recall on the wiper motor and sail piece. My truck was ready for delivery and I had a date set just as the recall happened. Had all the scheduling taken care of with young brothers and then the date got bumped five times. Each time communication was slow so I was scrambling to reschedule and change flights. When you schedule with Young Brothers, they push you two weeks out. Then it’s a game of email back and forth to try and get a cancellation spot closer to your delivery date. Finally, I think they YB got tired of me and I lucked out with a date same day as delivery for shipping. I think this is why Tesla offered the changed policy and were willing to help organize the shipping. That said, if you’re gonna fly over to take delivery, as soon as you have a hard date with Tesla, schedule the soonest available drop off with young brothers and then call or email every day looking for a cancellation closer to your delivery for drop off.

Once we get a few on maui we should do a Haleakala summit meet/photo shoot.

Funny, that's where I told my daughter that's the first place we should go.

Funny aside… I handed my shipping documents to the Young Brothers agent. He was standing right in front of the truck looking at it as he proceeded to ask me where my Tesla was. Pretty good indicator that they haven’t shipped many out of Oahu.
