delayed delivery due to inspection?

I am waiting for the delivery of my truck and had a delivery date for this coming weekend, however, I received a message from the Tesla saying the delivery date was canceled and they will contact me once available.
Spoke with the dealership they state that the truck is at their site, it just needs additional inspection prior to delivery .
Is this typical for delivery or should I be worried that there’s something wrong?

I just had the same thing happen for this Saturday, though I didn't follow up to hear that it's due for additional inspection. My guess is they found more problems with that batch so they have to check some more things. IDK why it should take so long though.

In a similar situation myself. I was told “containment does not have a correction at this time (recall)”,
And that 1-2wks is general time frame.

Bummer on the delay, but it's a good thing we don't have to take them back after the fact. My VIN hasn't changed so I assume they're planning to fix the truck assigned to me, once they figure out what the fix is.

I have a delivery scheduled for Thursday and got the same message from my sales advisor. The reason they gave is mandatory inspection for all CT deliveries.

how far away are you from the SC? I would go and check out my truck and see why an additional inspection is needed...sounds like an issue.

same here - my message said 'factory hold that must be addressed with our service team before delivery' - bummer as my truck is at the pickup location..... I am sure we will all know the hold up reason soon...

They do this when they find something that would require a physical “bring the truck to the shop” recall, and they want to give you the recall before you get the truck. It saves both you and the dealership time. The last one I remember is when there was a bad batch of wiper motors.

I spoke with the service center today. Truck is in “containment” at the delivery site. They did look at the truck this morning and there was a tire pressure sensor that required repaired . the truck is not released yet.
The salesperson stated that he was going to follow up with a service department, but I have not heard anything back.

They do this when they find something that would require a physical “bring the truck to the shop” recall, and they want to give you the recall before you get the truck. It saves both you and the dealership time. The last one I remember is when there was a bad batch of wiper motors.

There was the battery issue in January as well.
