Would you pick you Cybertruck up at the factory if you could?

I really hope Tesla will give the option to pick up the truck at the factory which will save the customer time in waiting for it to be delivered, and if they waive the destination fee it saves money for the cost to ship it. Wouldn’t that be a win/win? Who else would go pick theirs up? I believe Elon said he would consider it. Maybe we need a petition.

Living in Houston, I would make the short drive to Austin and pick it up. Heck, I’d do this with ANY Tesla I’d buy.

I hope there is an option for this. Being a pilot, I will definitely do it.

I'd pick mine up and then drive it to Starbase and hope to catch a Starship launch.

I will pick up mine, just 30 miles away. But my daughter just got her another MY. And they had it picked up in Austin service center. So , most likely Tesla will make you pick up at service center. I wish they would let us get at factory. Did that for my corvette. Was a fun adventure.
well, just waiting now. At the top of the list. Hoping that Tesla considers reservation # in order and uses location as a preference to start.
I should definitely be within the first 50 or less. Waiting! Waiting! Impatiently waiting!

At least one manufacturer in the US will "let" you pick up your car at the factory, sort of - Chevy.

If you buy a Corvette and pay $1,500 for the Museum Delivery option you will take delivery at the National Corvette Museum, about a mile from the Bowling Green assembly plant, but the car is loaded on a car hauler - as if it were headed to California - and transported q mile and unloaded at the museum. The option is worth every penny, but you still get charged the standard $1,695 destination fee, which is undoubtedly the most expensive shipping charge per mile that you'd ever pay.

Hopefully Tesla would buck that trend and not charge a destination fee if they allow factory pickup, but there may be some US law/rule that requires it.

I live north of Toronto but would consider driving to Texas. Good road trip in my M3., plus I'm retired.

How would this affect state incentives I wonder.

I'm in North Carolina and I'd gladly go pick up the truck in Austin. If they could include a factory tour that would be an added bonus.
Where in NC do you live? I’m in Raleigh and I’m 12K in line.

I was just going to post about this. I really hope we get the option to pick up in Austin. It would be cool to road trip in the CT as soon as i get it. From TX to NC. Plus i want to show up wearing all black with a cowboy hat. Gotta have the right fit when picking up the CT. Lol

I said Yes...

Now I just need to get it across the Pacific Ocean.
Not that hard. Porsche and BMW both have that option. You fly over, they give you a tour, you pick up your car. It gets registered in Germany! You then are required to put a certain number of miles on it (200-250 If I remember) So you go on a vacation and put the miles on it. You take it back to the factory, they service it and give it an oil change, you give them any issues you want addressed while it's there, and they put it on a boat for you. You wait a long time, and then it hits the port. From there it is trucked to a dealership, or in some cases they can drop at your house. Poof, you have your car, the dealer registers it for you as a used import, and you get to hang your german plates in the garage or your office as a memento.
