I was just at the service center and noticed the new cyber trucks are getting upgraded features that are not on the original cyber trucks.

for example, the rubber trim on the back of the glass for the tonnage is now a hard rubber strip. The older cyber trucks had the rubber foam that easily tears off. If you happen to get a tear in your insulation, the center is going to replace your glass. this causes the unpainted surface below the rubber to become visible. The new ct panel is painted all the way down and had in additional rubber strips.

It also appears that they've upgraded the tonnage cover to be more leak proof.

The bed seems to be of different Texture than mine. And the glass roof looked different and more flat.

they are also have the upgrade windshield motors. And some electronics I've been told.

I expect overtime. Everybody will get retrofitted to the new parts as a become issues.

isnt that normal for any time you want to be an early adopter? Newer models are going to have improvements. This is what I love about Tesla- constantly improving things.

Every vehicle model gets better each year. But Tesla doesn’t make those changes all at once, like most manufacturers. So older cyber trucks were the “2024’’ model, now they are making the “2025” model, essentially.

What’s your VIN range? We’re in the 25k range and have all that stuff.

Tesla does this all the time. You're likely not getting a retrofit unless you demand and ask for it

I feel like we should maybe start a thread of all the new stuff we should try to demand/get.

My left side panel of my vault. Looks like it has been used for years. The right one looks fine. WTF? Any ideas from anyone out there?

i have the awd verson. Since they can't repair the old version with seal tape only as it gets caught in the tonnage they replaced the glass with the new seal. . . I looked at a new cyber truck and it appears when they switched to the new seal they also added a rubber protector to the back.

I used Back to Black trim restorer from Mother’s. If it gets wet though, another coat needs to be added.

I’m glad Tesla is improving build quality for newer VINs. I believe we are in 30xxx range now. If they hadn’t done any improvements, that would have been very concerning. I can understand the frustration of missing out on these upgrades for current owners. Hope some of these upgrades can be done on early FS models. Next year there will be even more improvements. It’s a constant thing. You will always have an option of upgrade to CT 2.0+ models in the future, and you will never know what features will be omitted to bring the price down. Just have fun and make best memories with the CT in hand! 🥰. A CT in hand is better than two in the future 😜

The "unpainted metal" is metal that is ecoated in a greenish color after baking. The new process uses black ecoat so it appears painted but it's just a different color. The Cybertruck now has a dedicated PTED system. Previously before vin 23000 ish they were using the same process as the model Y being built at GFTX.

This happens with Tesla. Constant iteration vs waiting until the next model year.

Happened with our 2020 MYLRs, just in the first year or so from when we took delivery:

Icons on the door release buttons
Amber rear turn signals
Laminated front glass
Laminated rear glass
Rear package shelf
Updated super manifold/heat pump
HEPA filter
Heated steering wheel

Then upgraded interior and comfort suspension.

I like that because whenever you buy a Tesla, you’re getting the ‘latest’ model (unless theres a big refresh pending like with M3 Highland of course).

OTOH, it can be frustrating when you miss some cool upgrade by a week, haha!!

And, except for the HEPA filter, there was no official upgrade path. So it goes.

Hopefully that rear seal that’s subject to tearing can be replaced easy enough, haha!!
