I get asked often, does an EV will really save money over a traditional ICE vehicle? Well I decided to dive into the numbers and compare my Cybertruck to my previous truck, Ram 3500.

Don't watch videos. Not about saving money. Will take an electric motor any day past 250,000 miles. It is a crap shoot on out of warranty on diesel trucks. Even more so at the consumer level.

If you haul different story. If one is similar to most consumers. Many tow not so often. Value proposition is often diminished. Sorry a 3500 Ram diesel is far from a traditional ICE vehicle. So I would say the comparison is valid for a very select few.

normally people say Time is Money-time going to the gas station is just a waste of both money & energy. Moreover, why people always tend to calculate Gas & charging cost-it's much, much more than that. (I don't even watch these kind of videos)

A video isn’t for everyone. I am simply breaking down my numbers for those who have asked.

Love the video and effort. Would you say that you towed your RV about the same with the CT as with the RAM in those 21 months of RAM ownership?

Just wanting to justify a purchase of a range extender for long hauls.
I’m SURE that is an entirely separate video / numbers. 😂

Good effort.

I think your Ram diesel costs-of-ownership were incredibly conservative.

I believe your CT will provide more savings than what you projected.

Forgot about DEF Fluid for the Ram. And down the road, which I experienced, was the cost of the DPF replacement ($6600.00) at 116,000 miles.
Yeah fuck that just get a DEF delete, more power in your truck and better mileage.

And that's not just Ram. In my fleet we've replaced the def systems on a GMC 3500 with under 30k of miles, 2 Ford F450s under 100k, 1 Ford F550 under 80k, and also a Ram 5500 under 25k. All of which were at minimum $7500. Some were covered under warranty but at minimum a truck was out several weeks/months to replace. OEMs don't seem to give a hoot to engineer a good system and prefer to pass the buck onto the consumer.

There's also the shop cost when a technician has had a long day and puts def fluid in the diesel tank... Pretty hard to do when the only fluid on a truck is for the windshield.
