Tesla can only build one variant at a time. They will start with the higher end variants because they have a greater profit margin. They will probably not build dual motor variants until two or three years out. Single motors will be a very long wait. When I changed my Tri to a Quad, I got a new RN in the 1.5M range. However, my delivery date is a year from February. They will be lucky to build 200,000 by then. I think the only thing my RN was used for is to determine where in the Quad build out I stand.
I don't know what your are talking about. I am a second day reservation holder and to my knowledge there has never been a quad option other than random tweets by Elon. It has pretty much been confirmed that there will be a tri-motor plaid version which will make the quad unnecessary.

If you are 1.5 million in the queue, you won't be getting a truck for about 3 years. With regard to the duel motors, a large number of the RC test vehicles (perhaps all) have been duel motors so there will definitely be a duel and tri motor offering in 2 weeks.

dual motor has been all but confirmed for launch day and quad motor was never actually a thing. also, RN didnt change when you changed your config (this was only available for a limited time)

I hope you didnt get ripped off or something lol

Very much confirmed via the regulatory submissions they have to submit before selling a vehicle. They (all car makers) do this just before offering them to customers. Plenty of data on this, we'll definitely see two trims at launch, dual and tri. Nobody knows what options or variants will be available on those two trims.
I thought the regulatory certifications hadn’t been published here. Someone (you?) posted a link but said there was nothing for the Cybertruck (my read).

Anyway, the Dual-Motor, 300-mile trim was announced in 2019, but this Tri-Motor Performance trim is entirely new. It may be a reality but in my mind ‘new’ trims need not be confirmed; they just show up. In my mind what would need confirmation is an original trim change or removal.

you’re both right 🤣

dual and tri *are* dual and performance, as confirmed by the reg submissions

or more exactly:

dual and tri *are* Cybertruck (base) and Cybertruck Performance/Cyber-beast

Notions of ‘confirmation’ aside it seems clear that Tesla is making the Dual-Motor trim already. Why did you change your reservation? Tesla typically allows trim changes without changing the order number.
