Does the PowerShare determination by Tesla always come before you get your VIN when you purchase a Foundation Series Cybertruck?

I was wondering if any one had an information on this question. Does the PowerShare determination by Tesla always come before you get your VIN when you purchase a Foundation Series Cybertruck? I understand those processes are going along at the same time but are they in parallel or series? Does the PowerShare determination then drive the VIN or just that they are two separate events happening around the same time? Thanks.

I can tell you my XP so far. It might vary by user, of course.
Shortly after my config/order on Dec 26, I received an email for a PowerShare qualification survey. I think it was a few days after my order at most. I filled it out, then received a “congratulations, you qualify for Powershare, an electrician will reach out to schedule a walk-through” email after another day or two. I received a second email survey link about a week later, filled it out also. After 100 days, my VIN was assigned and four days later I took delivery. I still have not heard from an electrician. o_O - However, I do have a HPWC (40A) from my previous Tesla so I can charge my Cybertruck - or at least I think I can. I have not tried/tested it yet. It’s been < 24 hours since I brought it home here and the Service Center had it at 100% state of charge at delivery. I typically only charge to 50% and do it at a slow 5A rate. It’s just my own preference, leveraging time to my advantage since I work from home. I hope this helps.

Thank you much for this information / feedback. I too already have a home charger so hopefully the two are independent of each other.

I did two different surveys shortly after order (12/27) and haven't heard back and I am taking delivery Friday. SC told me that they would only be able to contact me after my delivery - not sure if that's geographic or what.

More importantly did you get a Tesbros email saying congratulations your Cybertruck is coming soon… and did this come just before a VIN?

I took delivery of my Cybertruck in GA 2 weeks ago. I filled out the suvey several months ago, as others have. I got a followup email saying an Tesla qualified electrician would be contacting me, and if I didnt do the install in 6 months, my Powershare device would be converted to Store credit.

"

Please do your best to adhere to the following timelines:

  • Your Tesla Certified Installer will contact you directly to schedule installation—if you do not respond within 21 days, your installation may be canceled.
  • The quote you receive from your Tesla Certified Installer is valid for 1 month. If you do not accept in 1 month, your installation may be canceled.
  • If your installation is not completed within 6 months after accepting your quote, your installation may be canceled.
"

FYI, as I posted this, I contacted the number on the email this was from, and they are coming out next week. I think if you got an email similar to this, you should reach out to them instead of waiting....
