Hey everyone, doing a demo drive for 24 hours in Seattle. So far the truck has been absolutely flawless, perfect honestly and I love it. The “community” here has been less than thrilled with it. Being yelled at and flipped off non stop. It’s been a let down in that aspect and honestly just sucks. Not sure if there’s anyone here who has been having the same experience? How do you deal with these loonies? I think it may be time to move ?

Just move North at least 30-50 miles and there are a lot less extreme left-wing people who live in a bubble. I no longer recognize the fine city of Seattle from my youth. It's been co-opted by extreme freaks.

The only places I've had negative interactions is on I-5 from downtown to Northgate, and on the island I live on in the San Juans, where one of the fine local tolerant residents yelled at me in the Post Office parking lot that I should be forced to move off the island. I told her, "Calm down, it's just a car."

The FedEx guy who delivers to our house really likes it. He joked that I'd bought a Lego truck the first time he saw it in the driveway. I told him that when I was in the 4th grade, I liked to draw cars. But I was so bad at art that every car I drew looked like the Cybertruck. And now, 55 years later, I'm able to buy the truck I drew when I was in the 4th grade. Isn't America great?

I've had lots of positive interactions - the same local post office where the woman was yelling I've had multiple conversations with people who think it's cool. Kids under the age of around 14 or 15 pretty universally give me a big, waving, thumbs up when they notice it.

I was at the Supercharger at Northgate about 10 days ago and a Camry drove by very slowly and then stopped in front of me, the window rolled down and I thought, great, still have 30 minutes to charge and this guy's gonna yell. Instead, he stuck his head out the window as he rolled the back window down and he said, "My son LOVES your truck and made me drive from across the parking lot to see it. Can he take a look at it?" Sure. The kid was maybe 8 or 9 and you could see walking around the CB was the highlight of his day. Kid got back in the Camry, the dad said thanks and waved as they drove off.

We have an apartment in Madison Park for when we're in town and to be honest, I think almost no one there notices it - of course the average age in Madison Park is probably late 70s, early 80s.

One of the bigger bright sides is that my two Golden Retrievers LOVE the back seat. I fold the seat up, throw a couple of blankets on the floor and they both curl up and go to sleep.

Right, from Alderwood north, no one really cares. Except the demented witch of a fellow island resident I mentioned above.

Depends on where you live, how long the CT has been in your area, and current events... and I think things are especially sensitive in Seattle the last few days. Though I was driving downtown yesterday evening and got zero negativity. Worst we got was an angry double middle fingers in cap hill once months ago. They were upset about something and they took it out on us. They got no response out of us. Up north in Lynnwood, I haven't seen a middle finger salute in a couple weeks.

After a year of ownership, you get kinda used to the occasional negative response, and the good experiences far outnumber the bad ones. I think most of the people in this community would say 90% - 95% good or tame responses? Again, depends on where you are.

Funny anecdote, I let a friend test drive my truck and before he took off I said it wouldn't be a full experience without seeing a middle finger. Near the end of the drive someone flipped off the driver next to us for almost hitting them at a crosswalk, and I said "close enough, we'll claim that one".

Ignore the loonies, they'll move on eventually.

I still get frequent negative reactions up in Whatcom County, but mostly thumbs down these days. Most people either don't care or are civil. The positive experiences I've had matter more.

There are quite a few threads on public reactions and CT owners responses. The consensus seems to be to ignore the hate or respond with kindness.

So, how many vehicles have you owned that help you build character? Should that be listed as a feature?

Honestly after this experience, the wife and I are currently looking at homes further out. Sad to say the city I was born and raised in has turned into an unsafe environment. The amount of hate towards a vehicle goes to show the amount of mental illness lurking around.

I live south and commute into Seattle three times a week for work. I’ve gotten to the point of ignoring it. People like that can’t be reasoned with anyway. Majority of my interactions outside of Seattle are positive.

Happy to hear you’re enjoying the truck!
