My AWD Cybertruck was delivered with a vibration I mentioned it on delivery day they had me make a service appointment and now they are going to replace the drive unit.
Will this impact the value of the truck?
What options do I have?
It has been in the shop since 5/27/24 they have the part but nothing has been done.

Update. I picked up the truck last night it feels very different. The vibration is gone and it also has a lot more regen. Also feels like it has significantly less acceleration before it was undoubtedly faster than my long range model 3 now it feels slower. I only drove it 20 miles so we will see. The main screen was glitching a lot to idk if I can deal with another SC visit for a wile so hopefully this works itself out.

It shouldn't affect the value of the truck. Also, make sure they ensure the tires are properly balanced. Most people forget it comes with 35" tires. They are always hard to balance. Test drive any new Ford Bronco with 35" tires from the factory (Sasquatch package) and you'll find at least half vibrate substantially at certain speeds...

From what they told me after checking wheel alignment balance tightening everything on the Drive unit it still had the same vibration so they got engineering from corporate involved and the recommendation was to replace the whole Dr. unit.
Do you have any idea how long a job like that should take once they have the part?
Does every service center have the capacity to take on that kind of a job?

Drive unit replacement is a few hour job and not terribly complicated, actually. I hope they can get you taken care of soon.
Do they have to let my battery drain to zero?
It got there at about 60

That’s great thank you wonder why it’s been sitting there for days now. They said they’re letting the battery drain to a safe level. It’s at 9%. I originally thought they were gonna drain it with specialized equipment , but maybe just has to sit there.

Huh, I don't see draining the battery pack in the procedure, but maybe it's a general safety step? Shouldn't be needed though since they pull the disconnect loop.

Can you describe your symptoms? Is it a rumbling sound that occurs at certain speeds? How much vibration can you feel in the wheel and elsewhere in the cabin? Are the symptoms completely absent at higher or lower speeds? Did the SC rebalance your wheels? Did that make any difference?

I'm having the same experience of vibration which was present immediately after delivery. I've been to a SC three times so far without resolution. My symptoms are a rumbling sound accompanied by subtle vibration throughout the cabin but most noticeable in the steering wheel. It occurs between 50 - 70 mph, but most noticeable between 55 and 65. The SC tech wants to compare with another CT before taking any action. The standard explanation is the all terrain tires are the cause, but, honestly, the CT's tires do not have a very aggressive tread.

Nothing to be concerned about, just drop it off and let service take care of it, simple as that.

I had vibration through the accelerator pedal when slowing down in the 40s specially at 44. Then above 70 it got much more noticeable but still through the accelerator pedal.
It felt worse on certain days not sure why.
I avoided the conditions that caused it until I got it into service.

No rumble here but definitely a tire balance problem. Two tires were off by about 3 ounces of weight. I have low expectations from these Goodyear tires. I agree to let service do their thing. Good luck to all.

I’m on my 5th Raptor with 35s and never had a trace of wheel vibration in 120,000+ miles.

We bought a 2023 Ford Bronco last summer as we waited for the Cybertruck. I test drove quite a few of them in the process of wheeling and dealing. These were BRAND NEW on the dealer's lot. Half had a vibration, usually between 40-60 mph. I literally walked away from a deal on one (dragged the wife with me to pick it up) when it did this. They took it to service, who said there was nothing they could do to fix it. Needless to say, we walked away from that one. The one we did buy drove great, all the way up to 80mph (on a closed course, of course ;))

I'm glad you never had any issues with your Raptors. Were they on Goodyear Wranglers like the new Ford Broncos are on?

BTW, we only lasted 3 months owning the Bronco. It's so hard to go back to gas after having an EV. We would never drive it unless we needed to tow (which the Model Y did well enough). Luckily we didn't lose too much money on it since it was still pretty demand constrained.

I have have never really felt anything like this but the closest was a damaged torque tube.
