I'd imagine that's what it currently uses for the rear view mirror. So it's no trouble to open it up in software to have an additional device connected to the trailer backup camera input pipeline , then just default to that when trailer connected to trailer wiring connector.

Hmmmmm…….

I wonder how many WiFi cameras could be used at once. And if the CT will be able to recognize what view the camera is seeing so it can integrate the data with the 360 degree view.

Imagine if every Cybertruck came with a little CyberDrone that followed it around at all times to provide a birds-eye view.
If the drone can keep up with the 120 mph CT and avoid telephone/power lines, that would be one seriously cool drone.

Faa might have something to say about that. Tesla isn't giving out faa drone licenses with each ct!

Easy...
You could just have a tethered drone too and just keep it under 250g. Just watch out for powerlines and bridges.

Multiple wifi cameras would be cool, they should be able to sync with the main 360 view so long they have enough overlap to stitch them together in realtime. They will need to do that anyway for a trailer camera because the trailer camera POV will always be moving in comparison to the fixed ones on the CT.

If it's going to be tethered, you might as well put a camera on a stand on the roof. Something that can take 360-degree views. How about something like the Mosaic cameras. Here are some sample videos.

Would be cool to be able to attach the camera to a drone once you get somewhere to video things like waterfalls, etc.

WiFi has advanced steadily in terms of bandwidth, security, signal rejection, etc. The answer to your question is more cameras than anyone needs. A lot more.

Agreed. But a long tether of even just 20m or so would give great aerials and situational awareness with no range or battery limits. Maybe a magnetic detachable tether would be best. I expect an untethered drone to be included as an option. They already have drone feature integrated in the CT UI patent with SLAM so I'd say its coming.

PS a Insta360 camera would be a cheaper option, and would automatically be able to adjust for orientation and level regardless of mounting location. Smaller too.

There are a lot of good reasons why tethered drones are all mounted to fixed bases.

Any time you add a tether, the problem of dealing with collisions becomes a lot more complex. You also have the issue of managing cable tension.

A wireless drone would be adequate for any kind of slow speed maneuvers.
