Per the owners manual there are air bags in the front seats, and as such, they warn against seat covers that might block them. Do the seat cover designs avoid interfering with the deployment of any of those seat mounted airbags?

WARNING: Do not use seat covers on a seat equipped with a seat-mounted airbag (see Location of Airbags on page 48). Doing so could restrict deployment of the seat-mounted side airbags if a collision occurs. Also, if the vehicle is equipped with an occupant detection system that is used to determine the status of the passenger front airbag, seat covers may interfere with this system.

(assuming they're ok in that regard, I might eventually be interested in seat covers in the same tactical gray as the interior, which would be cooler than black and yet not show every bit of dirt like white)

My thoughts exactly and by looking at a deployed CT airbag and these covers, the answer is clear...

Thank you for your question! This seat covers are designed with safety in mind and feature openings that allow for the proper deployment of the side airbags.

As for the color, gray sounds like a fantastic choice! We're definitely considering developing it in a tactical gray to provide a stylish alternative that’s both practical and complements the interior. Stay tuned!

I recall the 1934 (magazine serial)/1949 (book) sci-fi novel "Skylark of Valeron" where the control room of maybe the biggest spaceship ever imagined (sphere diameter over 1,000km, yet the fastest thing out there) was very minimalist, nothing but seats, thought helmets (both control and VR), and neutral gray walls and carpet to avoid distraction.

Given minimalist Tesla interiors, and the tactical grey option, not hard to remember that if one had previously read it. For now, it's only got a touchscreen. But with Neuralink, who knows?

PS the copy I read was printed in the 60's and already worn. So I'm not THAT ancient.
