The Dual Motor Cybertruck will most likely slot in between the Model Y and the Model S.

My guess is that Elon‘s directive to his design and engineering team were to keep the CT part numbers low, ensure the specs are best in class and make it easy to manufacture.

Nah....it needs to be MY price to stomp the truck market. between the Y and S is too steep to really hurt legacy.

It didn't on release night. Why would it now?

Tesla has traditionally aimed to keep their vehicles as available for tax breaks as possible. So there's an additional $80k ceiling.

Does anyone else suspect a “second round” of deposits to weed out all the BS $100 reservations? It seems logical that a deposit of $1000 or more after configuration makes sense. I’m sure this has been discussed.

I certainly hope so! I'm bracing for a $100k price tag for the quad, btw.

IF we receive 2 9T presses ........ Ct will not be a Niche vehicle.

That is the clearest signal that the pricing will be affordable to most people wanting a truck.

To add:
"Start with a more expensive car.. make money .. make a mass market car."

That is done and dusted.

We are making mass market cars now.

No.

They only did that with the Roadster when the company was running out of funding.

Why would they need to collect money to get people to skip ahead in the line? They have plenty pf people interested.

Just curious, has anyone heard what the ‘expected’ price range will be?
The only actual price info from Tesla is the original launch pricing.

Tesla has not said anything else after that, other than a comment from Musk that there was some pressure due to inflation hinting pricing might shift.

We paid a preorder fee.

When we configure out vehicle we’ll pay a deposit. Likely $1500.

When we take delivery we will pay the balance.

I don’t think there will be a post-pre-order fee. Doesn’t make any sense.

Nobody has said "It won't cost more". Nobody.

What many have said is WE DON'T KNOW if it will cost more.

Saying we don't know if it will cost more is NOT the same thing as saying it won't cost more. You're changing what was said, then attacking the new meaning.

Will it cost more? Probably. Do we know it will cost more? No. Do we have any clue as to how much more it will cost (if any)? Not a clue.

When Elon said the price will be different he also implied the specs will change. What I think that means is, for example, the top of the line CT will not be $70k because it won't have the same specs as the original top of the line CT. Is that a price increase? Debatable. Is that bait and switch? also debatable.

On reveal day he gave specific prices and specs. Ever since then it's just been random and vague tweets and comments. And people keep insisting their interpretation of his comments is the correct interpretation. (Just realized we may be at the threshold of starting a religion.)

With the information we have so far, which of the following statements is true?
A. We don't know if the price of the CT will be higher than originally stated.
B. 100%, it will be more expensive.
The Answer is A

Saying "I don't know" is a sign of an intelligent person.
Stating something is 100% true based on less that concrete evidence. A sign the person doesn't have a grasp on the concept of absolutes.

I ALWAYS say I NEVER use absolutes. Never. :)
