I know there are numerous posts here on the topic and in the Tesla manual but I’m still having an issue with spots.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and have a Foundation Beast. I have what appear to be water spots and some darker spots that almost look like a patina.

When I clean the truck I always dry it off. I have tried isopropyl alcohol wipes, Spraway previously and yesterday Citrisurf 77 for the first time.
I don’t want to damage the trucks finish.

for anyone that’s had success with this before, How hard to you scrub with the blue pad? Is there leaving now. love you ideal ourside temperature that’s more effective to do this in? On the sides how do you keep it moist for 5-10 minutes without getting on the trim? And any other suggestions would be appreciated. The spots are driving me crazy.

thank you!

Have you tried the bar keepers friend followed by windex ? That has removed everything I’ve come across so far .
Thank you. I have not. I have the liquid bar keepers friend but haven’t tried it yet, I nervous about scratching the metal.
Do you use the blue scour pad to scrub the barkeepers?

I have personally used BKF SprayFoam with a Blue ScotchBrite dish sponge (ScotchBrite side)..

Apply a bit, use sponge just to agitate the spot and move the foam around (DO NOT need any hard pressure or scrub) and the stubborn spots have disappeared.

you may want to commit and do all the panels because the luster will be a bit brighter that an adjacent panel which was not treated..

The more difficult part is cleaning the BKF film off after.. Windex (my bottle is labeled ‘original’) works well, with an immediate waterless wash in a bottle (I use Mothers) to finish the job.

Dont be discouraged till the end step. It’s just part of the process.

have a lot of MicroFibres ready.

I also bought at the same time the BKF Liquid Polish and SprayWay, but have never had the need to try them since the BKF Foam worked so well and ‘easily’

Hope this helps…

Agreed , you’ll love the new shine so be prepared to do the whole truck one panel at a time . Wax on wax off , I use a soft wax application pad , light pressure is just fine wipe off with many microfiber. (Yellow pack at Costco is best deal I’ve found) . Follow up with windex for final shine and neutralize the the bar keepers. It goes pretty quick should be less than an hour , if a panel doesn’t look right , do it over you can’t really screw it up . Try to avoid getting bar keepers on the plastics bumpers and wheel flares . Blue painters tape works well.

I do a wash and then I sprayed citri surf every other wash or so. Let the Citri sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then wipe and rinse off. I dry my car with a leaf blower and that helps the spotting as well, don’t let hard water sit on it.

You might like a wrap if don't want a full time job keeping spots off of it. If you like the stainless look, there are clear wraps to keep oxygen off the steel. Otherwise, the metal will never reach equilibrium if you're using bkf and/or citrisurf. These are acids that remove small amounts of naturally building up chromium oxide on the steel, they return that og shine but only for a short time.

Best of luck!

Block a couple of hours, use bar keepers, you will need 6-8 pads, then windex with a lot of towels.

The best thing I have found is barkeepers’s friend liquid. Get it at any Lowe’s Menards grocery store. It’s the best I found.
