Fingerprint issue exaggerated?

Does any other CT owners feel like the fingerprint issue seem a bit exaggerated? Sure, SS does pick up fingerprints easily, but they are typically concentrated on the doors. All it takes is a quick hit of window cleaner and they are gone. Quick 1-2 minute touch-up if you can't handle seeing some fingerprints.

I think Dirty Stainless is pretty cool looking. I'm sure some people disagree. I think people underestimate that the CT has a decent path to restoration by just spraying on some corrosive particle remover, rinsing and lightly buffing. The steel can stain, but the stains do not go deep.

The stainless steel definitely lets more things stick to it than a smooth paint coating. So you can try to put metal treatment coatings on the CT if you want to emulate that. Otherwise put a wrapped material on it. I think however a long dirty wraped CT is actually more concerning than long dirty bare stainless. Especially if you let dirty wrap surface bake in the sun.

After a month of ownership I couldn't take the fingerprints any longer. I have kids and they overly touch everything. Also I've literally had to deal with hundreds of strangers walking up to the car while its parked, peek in my windows, and touch it everywhere. I'm thinking about doing a compilation video of people checking out the car, lets just say there are a lot of weirdos out there.

Finger print problem has gone away now that I wrapped it in Stek Matte Black PPF. Also it is super easy to wash now.

Not exaggerated. I wrapped and tinted my truck to resolve this issue and add some privacy. Fingerprints require constant attention and will never truly be resolved. Clean one day, back the next.

Not exaggerated. The metal is a sponge for grease and oil. Plus people love walking up to it and making hand prints on it so I’m constantly having to wash it or look like I’m driving around in a truck finger painted with grease.

Had my Cyberbeast for 2 days and sent it off for matte ppf. Still keeps the look and no prints.

Yea ageee exaggerated. Windex and clean towels, quickly remove and clean the surface very well. It also doesn’t smear a chemical look when it’s used.

5K miles and 2 months ownership... they don't bother me at all. So easy to clean when it's time to clean, but the truck does seem to get dirty quick. I wash it and get it spotless and one drive later it's got schmutz everywhere.

Think the fingerprint issue may be understated if anything. Compared to paint the visibility of prints is through the roof.
Truck needs to be dirty so fingerprints are not noticeable, or wrapped so they are not a problem.

Very overexaggerated. Even with other items that fall on the CT, I have been able to remove them with windex and a microfiber towel.

With that said, I am getting my truck wrapped in a clear coating, simply because I just want the peace of mind that I can wash it or dirt can sit on it, and I dont have to worry about going crazy to wash it off or cause long lasting swirls.

The key is how clean the truck is. If it is immaculate, then they stick out like a sore thumb. If it's a little dirty (i.e. driven in the rain), they really don't stick out enough to bother me. Just my $0.02.

Just a warning for people, you shouldn’t be using a strong ph ammonia cleaner like windex on the steel. Please read the manual for guidance but it basically boils down to ph neutral dish soaps, isopropyl alcohol, and citric acid cleaners for deep cleaning

Yeah, they harped on that at delivery. ONLY use ph neutral chemicals on it.

I use Sprayway Glass Cleaner instead of Windex since it is ph neutral. Of course, that was only the first few days. Now I just leave it...
