Santana Row is only 40 minutes from my house. I think I’ll check it out in a few days. I am so retail-ignorant though … will it be busy before Thanksgiving? I went there a few years ago in our big van and learned the hard way that I had to park across the street at Valley Fair. And waiting for the light to change so I could cross Stevens Creek took about as long as driving over the hill from Santa Cruz. So keep posting pics so I may decide it’s not worth seeing it in person if my order will take a few years to fulfill. I have seen a few on the road but they were all (gasp) dirty.

Went to see the one in San Jose.

It's so cute! Spouse didn't like how they were greeting people, convincing them to part with contact details so walked out.

I really like the styling. The bumpers all were easily stepable, the aft ones more. That little triangle in the back is 2-3", level, definitely god to step on.

No, they didn't let me measure anything.

That suspension piece is clearly supposed to have a curve in it.

And this model had a white interior.

Couldn’t get to the San Diego one tonight. Trying to get there tomorrow. Based on the Peterson prototype pix vs in-person, it’ll look better in person!

This was San Jose? Looks like 3 or 4 zeros after the A. Is the end covered? I think I can see 7G2CHEDRA0000__
nah, look at the font spacing of the two zeros

next font spacing is compressed (a “1”), the next is just a partial

it’s a 0012XX

these showroom units appear to be staged in the “high” setting.

In high, they appear every bit as big as my stock Lightning.

Lowered to standard height, the relatively smaller size is much more apparent.

Though, if I raised my Lightning on 35” tires and a 2” lift, the CT’s relative size would be apparent even in “high”

Seeing the CT shape-shift in size is pretty wild
It wasn’t in the high position but I am not tall. I didn’t even come up to the top of the doors.

Go! My first time there and I parked in the lot behind the stores. It was ok at 1:00 pm. I was also surprised as @Crissa with their demand for my information but maybe they will invite me down for a test drive after the delivery event!

huh, maybe it was in medium, based on that shot.

Then I have no explanation for you thinking it appeared as big as the Petersen / OG proto

excitement makes for big eyes

It was nice to see a release candidate up close.

I agree with your spouse. That's not the way to treat/greet a customer. Nice photos, I wonder how many people after seeing the CT in person, still think it's ugly. I have always thought it was modern art. And really like the styling.

Most of us, they already know... I'm guessing most people walking in to see the Cybertruck are long-time Telsa vehicle owners.

I took about 60 photos today at 50 MP, hoping for good opportunities to zoom in and catch details.

Tesla Cybertruck First Cybertrucks in Tesla stores now! @ San Diego & San Jose first 20231120_171528 (2)

The glare on the windows made for horrible interior shots.

  • I noticed the dual hexagon cup holders.
  • The rear bench seat flips up.
  • Tires are 34.6" in diameter. (285/65R20, to be exact).
  • The large block below the license plate appears removable (for towing).
  • The rearview mirror looked like a normal mirror from the passenger side but black from the driver's side. I assume this will be a screen, as seen in previous videos and noted by Elon.
  • Some rear panel gaps seemed planned but large and located in interesting places.
  • The front wheel liners look ready for optional mud flaps as we can get on the X.
  • The wiper appears to be one large blade (I expected a dual-blade setup).

I did not see a VIN. Where are those located?

Feel free to use these, but I would appreciate credit or a tag when you do.

Most of the people I met today were not Tesla owners, but planned to be 'soon'.
Women seemed to hate it
Men loved it
Kids said, "Is that real?"

My wife feels the same way, I can't wait to take her parking spot in the garage..
