My dad just sent me this article, "Tesla’s Cybertrucks were ‘rushed out,’ are malfunctioning at astounding rate", which features threads from this forum

https://nypost.com/2024/04/08/busin...ed-out-are-malfunctioning-at-astounding-rate/

I am now posting it here, for ultimate Cyberception.

They also misidentify the forum name, calling it the Tesla Owner's Club.

It's interesting to see how the article represents these issues. My experience here is a lot of happy owners with a few people having issues.

Some of the issues in the article seem standard, like the phantom braking, which happens in lots of vehicles with collision avoidance. Range tests have seen better performance since that one Out of Spec highway test. The rusting is so far just surface rust from contaminants. And a Jeep person doesn't like the headlights, probably because every Jeep I ever see has aftermarket "off road only" lights aligned to blind other drivers lol.

Anyway, keep in mind what you post here could end up anywhere, twisted into the narrative of anyone with an agenda or deadline to meet.

Thats exactly what I said in a thread earlier that whatever we post here pics, videos, and info will be used by the media and potentially twisted up too.

I’m not surprised when I see forum threads referred to in esoteric YouTube channels, but it was a bit wild to see screencaps in a major news outlet.

Thanks for sharing. I saw this as well, and was equally disappointed.

It’s all about clicks in volume and hate on Tesla generates more clicks than love on Tesla.

So funny, my dad sent me this as well! 😂

Between him and his friend, they send me every hate article on Tesla for the last 10 years. My Model X and Model S are excited to have a CT siting in the garage later today. Can’t wait to pick it up, warts and all. Tesla always makes good on their products IMO, whatever may come. Hopefully I’m picking up a solid vehicle. All the posts on this forum have been super helpful for me. I think they’ve mostly been positive so I’m not too worried.

The news companies are in desperation mode. Once the old folks are gone that still keep them in business they will have a hard time surviving.

Exactly. This article is the perfect example how they can take unverified "user reports" designed to throw shade on Tesla and turn them into an actual "news" story, without verifying any of the facts. In effect, creating a fake news hit piece from thin air.

And the ignorance displayed is stunning:

A separate thread featured a “WTF moment” in which the owner said his Cybertruck’s auto-pilot feature seemingly malfunctioned as another truck approached in the other lane while both were driving on a highway.
Because no Cybertrucks even have Autopilot yet! Don't they check even the most basic things for factuality before re-publishing them?

What a disaster of a story! But gullible people will still be swayed by it. This happens with each new product launch by Tesla and yet Tesla just keeps growing and cranking out products to help the world transition to sustainable energy as soon as possible.

That's been happening for years, whenever they think it will help their agenda. They are in desperation mode, and this is accelerating their downfall, by making people lose respect for mainstream media.
