I went to take a demo drive of a model y because I'm not going to buy my cyber truck for a couple years until the price goes down. Boy was I shocked when I walked in the showroom. It's all roped off and you can't sit in it, but she's a beauty. I was expecting to be able to get a point of purchase $7500. But for some reason the federal government is dragging their feet and it isn't available yet. as soon as that becomes available I'm buying myself a model y for the next few years until the cyber truck price comes down to reality. Maybe 60K.

I think I'll swing by tomorrow and take a look. I don't see Foundation Series in your pictures so maybe it isn't mine..... I want to see what the future looks like.
Thanks!

Baldylocks is correct, they said it's been there for a couple weeks. My son was so excited he wanted to see it. So we went back by there. Here's a photo of the Foundation logo. It's very subtle. One other thing, when you look at it from just the right angle, there are waves in the metal.

Interesting! I think I am the only guy listing Camarillo delivery with a AWD FS Cybertruck. At least on our Club Order List. So why isn’t that my truck? If it is, they plan on keeping it and not delivering to a customer? We are back in the Twilight Zone again!

If you think the panels look a little off now, wait a year and they will really look off!

I'm sorry to tell you that the Cybertruck already meets your numbers

EST. $60,990

REAR-WHEEL DRIVE

That isn't expected to ship until next year and who knows when a new reservations would get one.

And that's without the Tax Credit.

I don't think we can call it "meeting" their numbers when it's an estimate and doesn't exist (and there's no timeline of when it will).

Always nice to have hope though, I guess

Did I say it did?

I was merely replying to @Sirfun 's post of "I'm buying myself a model y for the next few years until the cyber truck price comes down to reality. Maybe 60K."

You just know that Tesla is going to delete features on the entry level $61k RWD Cybertruck. Expect a toned down sound system, etc.

That's an interesting possibility. I have 2 reservations, I haven't cancelled. The early one, I received an invitation for the FS on Dec. 8th and haven't heard anything else from Tesla. I'm not worried about the $200, so I'll just leave it with Tesla, and maybe buy a rear-wheel drive CT when it's available. All my other pick-ups were rear-wheel drive only. My main issue is that's a lot of money for a vehicle without much range. Also, one more disappointment I've had with the CT is they charge slowly. I thought that it had the same architecture as the Semi, which can charge up enough for 500 miles fully loaded in 1 hour. I thought that meant the CT would be able to charge very quickly. That would make smaller range much more bearable.

I was extremely happy with the Model Y test drive. I may hold onto it for a long time.

Here's a video I shot that shows how wavy the tailgate and other panels are, on the Founders Series CT in Camarillo. I personally would not accept delivery of a vehicle like this for $100K.

I feel the $61k RWD version is a great value, slightly wavy panels and all.

The $99k and $120k FS are overpriced. I heard a CA CyberBeast reservation holder claim his truck will be $136k out the door.

It's a "fully loaded" vehicle with FSD and Powershare. It isn't, nor should you expect the first cars to be, the low-cost vehicle.

They aren't base price vehicles. The base price vehicles are coming soon, but Tesla has to get the production line started first.

The RWD vehicle will be here next year.

FSD costs $12,000. Many people say it's overpriced, but my wife would kill me if I took it away from her.

All cybertrucks have wavy panels, prove me wrong.. 🤣🤪

This is another downside to not being able to ‘form’ a panel.. you have less control over the final form..

Some are just less wavy than others. The waves are enhanced as you add more sheen or gloss to the surface..

I don’t mind the wavvy as long as it’s consistent.
