Front License Plate - what are you doing about it?

I can't belive CA DMV has a faster "service" than Tesla; I got my plates...2 ea. I don't want to install the front plate for obvious reasons. What are you guys/girls doing about the front plate?

great topic. i installed my back plates as is, no frame. and still have my front with mount / frame inside the CT. Thought about placing it at the bottom of the front windshield, but no way to secure it. for now ill just keep it in the car until the boys in blue say something.

Here in Virginia we have front license plates, as well. On my Model 3 I removed the glue-on mount Tesla installed and swapped that for a Snapplate - which then lives in the sub-trunk in the back of the car. The Snapplate allows quick install/removal of the front plate and if I'm stopped I'll have it at hand.

I ordered a similar Snapplate for the Cybertruck a few weeks back. I pick up my truck today and will probably install the Snapplate tomorrow.

I'm in Virginia with the QuickBandit up front. Hate the way the truck looks with a front plate. However, with dark tint being a secondary offence, I want to limit justification for getting pulled over.

I am in NJ where a front plate is required. I have 3 teslas and have owned a Tesla since 2020. I have never had a front plate and I have never had a problem. Going to continue with the same.

NJ here - No front plate until the blue line actually writes me a summons... same with the inspection sticker.

Here in NY it's required but i do not mount it. In my area, police tend to look the other way as long as you do not drive like a jerk.

I mounted my front plate.

I like the look better with a plate than without.

No front plate makes the CT look a bit like a concept or display car to me. Now it looks 'real' haha!!

I've never used a front plate. Here in Colorado, it's a $70 fine for not having one. You can usually get away with "I didn't know" or "I don't have a mounting plate". But I've never got a warning. To spend $100k+ on a vehicle and stick can ugly plate on the front in fear of a $70 fee didn't make sense to me. (but, I also had this mind set when driving a $16,000 car).

I'm too lazy to take pictures, but I bought these silicon plate holders from Amazon (https://a.co/d/07JrEg2Sz) which I have used on all my Teslas to protect the paint (vinyl in my case) from the rust that comes off license plates. I used one in the back with screws. For the front license plate, I put strong flat magnets in between the license plate and the rubber, in all four corners. I keep the front license plate in the frunk. If I get pulled over, or I'm crossing a border into a state that cares about front license plates, I can just slap it on the front of the CT and it will stay there firmly.

I'm using the Snap Plate product for the Cybertruck and I like it a lot...It's easy to install and there are security screws that help prevent a casual thief from taking the plate or the bracket off the vehicle....Seems pretty secure....

I normally haven't put the front plate on any of my prior Telsas (S, X, 3 and Y), mostly because I don't like the way it ruins the lines of the front for the OEM plate mount. I've kept a Quickbandit mount available for safety inspection and going on-base. However the CT's OEM mount point is less offensive to me so I'll probably just use it to avoid the hassle.

Local PD used to ignore all the Teslas without front plates because there weren't too many. But they're everywhere now and PD has been cracking down on us.

I gave up on the front plate but decided to keep the vanity front plate on after mounting it to take pictures. Being in Texas where 2 plates are required, I figured it’ll be easy to replace the vanity with an official plate if necessary. Fingers crossed officers will be nice.

I am in Texas where a front plate is required. I don't put on front plates on my cars. I have been stopped in the past, but not in several years. Police seem to be much more lax now.

Hey am I understanding correctly that I got my truck delivered without inspection? I am in NJ. Is that how Tesla does it? That is super annoying that I have to go get it inspected a brand new vehicle.
