Electric vehicles don't have engines, but I would think adding several pounds of weight to the frunk lid would put a lot more strain on the motor that operates the lid.

Regarding the point you mentioned, it might be the case for ordinary cars, but for the Cybertruck model, it would not have any impact at all. After all, the Cybertruck was developed with the positioning to be capable of off-road driving in deserts. As an off-road vehicle, its performance and configuration would certainly not be concerned with such a small component as a mesh panel.
