We’ve tested the Frunk Molle with a variety of items and confirmed that it doesn’t interfere with the automatic opening or closing of the frunk. To provide more precise data, we’ll be doing a load test soon to verify the exact capacity and share the results with you.
Here, hold my beer. 🍺

So, I did some testing tonight because I'm impatient. Here are my results of my redneck testing with some quick accessories i had on hand:

✅ - 15lbs opens and closes just fine.
❌ - 20lbs opens fine but pulls the frunk back closed. (keep in mind it was suspended weight which may act differently from secured and distributed weight) however it's probably the upper limit regardless.

I hope this helps anyone deciding if they want to purchase these.

Yeah, I was a bit shy on my post - Sig Rattler or MCX 16" here
Yep, it'll hold one ok based on my testing so long as the racks them selves are 6.6 lbs total as the website says they are.

I wish the molle was a little thinner to reduce weight and I hope the brackets they come with are aluminum as well to reduce weight to the max since the frunk can only lift a max of about 15 - 17lbs total before it pulls closed by the weight.

Here's what I plan on loading on my rack, one of these guys:

can weights a pound...so maybe 7-8lbs should be good, ordered! Just cant cross state lines without NFA permission (2 tax stamps SBR+Can)! Wont leave in truck except for rare occasions...now need to go weigh / measure shotgun (for bears) to see if it'll fit.

Nice Rattler you got there. For 300 BO, I went with the Noveske Ghetto Blaster. I ordered the panels today also, can't wait to get them in and mount em.

Nice shotgun - Baretta 1301 here...

Wont ever go wrong with Noveske so good choice....!!!!

If weight is an issue for larger guns, maybe 1 panel will work (shave 3.3lbs of rack weight)....anyone have a good solution for molle mounts to hold a variety of guns? Any experience with these? https://greymantactical.com/collections/weaponmounts/products/togglequickreleaseshockcord

vs the more traditional "shovel" holder type?

Great link for mounts, thanks for posting. I was just going to start looking into retention as well. I saw these on that site that may be functional as well: https://greymantactical.com/collect...s/quickfistgo-betweenclamp-enlarged-handguard

If you find any other quality mounting straps, let me know! $20 for each bungee straps sucks, but everything's price these days sucks.
I have similar for my shovels on my sail Molle Panels - they're good straps but maybe not as flexible across multiple guns / diameters...vs the $20 Bungees, but maybe a bit more secure...I have some extra shovel mounts so will try those first and see how they do.

I think I’m going to buy the set of two of these rubber clamps. I just wish there were similar items at a better price point. If anyone knows of something very similar that could be used for this purpose, post a link up.

@ill1cit used these for a custom frunk Molle not-a-flamethrower mount. The rubber strap caused some yellowing on mine though.

Installed the molle panels tonight. Was quick and easy but needed the video from the product page to show how to mount the single bracket. Didn’t realize that one went over the hole. Could have mentioned that on the install sheet.

My thoughts: Overall good quality, i like that it came packed with an extra bolt, washer and nut in case you lose one. Sturdy quality metal and brackets. I wish it had lock washers as well to make sure the nut doesn’t rattle loose from driving. I wish you also sold the rubber mounts on the site also to make it a one stop buy.

i hope it’s ok to post these and no hippie liberals get thier tampons stuck in their ass.

In case you were wondering… 🧐, it’ll hold it unloaded, open and close the frunk fine. It stays open no problem.

However when fully loaded, it’ll open and close but after it opens it’s just heavy enough to trigger an auto close, so this build as i have it, is literally a few ounces too heavy. If i unloaded a half mag it’ll probably be fine.

What's the weight on that SBR? I need it to hold up to at least 7.8lbs (Baretta 1301 or Sig Rattler)!

Not sure, i can try and weight it tomorrow but it’ll be about the same as the rattler, maybe a bit lighter when loaded. I’ve got the lightest optic and mount on it, can’t really shave much weight from where I’m at. You should be ok unloaded but loaded your mag will be heavier for sure.

Forgot to weigh the PCC but I’ve got a question for y’all. Is there a way to disable the frunk close on pull feature? The weight of everything tends to pull the frunk closed and that’s not good. I’d like to disable that if possible and only close on button push. Any ideas?
