Make me want to pass my FS series. Harder to justify the 20K extra now.
Yeah, it would take ten years to get to $12,000. Wow.

I wonder if purchased FSD will go down now??

Part of me feels like this is a tactic to get LESS people to buy outright at the current price.

Maybe that means they're close to something even bigger than V12?

Because if they can get a bunch of people to not buy outright, then they jack up the outright price, then put out something super awesome, you have subscribers for life because they won't want to pay the jacked up outright price.

Plus bunch of people who already have cars get on the subs.

Totally possible that Tesla is needing a cash influx too though. Lol idk

A lot of us think they'll have to or should allow at least one transfer to help justify the added cost of an outright purchase. This would help all of us who paid full-boat retail for it (vs. just decreasing the cost to buy it). Of course, if you can go to sleep or watch a movie while it's driving (legally), I'm sure it won't stay $99/month!

Agreed! I think the more likely explanation is they want to keep the data flowing while they fine-tune the model. The data volume will greatly reduce once the free 30-day trial is over.

Take the $12k and put it in a mere savings account and it will generate half your subscription cost monthly
...uhh... and you'll lose principle every month, reducing how much interest you get the next month and then when they end the promotion you'll be stuck paying the higher price...

Perfect I’m def renewing this on my Model Y, hopefully this is a sign of the FS coming to an end.
