Update -- here's official confirmation from Tesla (via the official Cybertruck x.com account)

Tesla Cybertruck FSD transfer now eligible for Cybertruck purchases [Update: Confirmed by Tesla] screenshot-2024-10-22-at-4-47-02%E2%80%AFpm-

Added: Helpful update/info posted by @24tex24:

Full disclosure - I'm a details person (CPA/ESQ).

Long story short, after asking multiple times via text with Tesla on how to accomplish the FSD transfer from my model S to my upcoming CT; I finally became frustrated and drove to the local delivery center to speak with a manager.

They'll ask you to fill out the attached form and the FSD transfer will become effective 24-48 hours after you take delivery of the CT.

FYI - I'm keeping my model S, but it will become the wife/kids car and none of them are comfortable with FSD so it would be a waste to keep FSD on that car. Plus, I'll probably replace it in the next 24 months with a newer model.

NEWS: As of today, the Cybertruck is now eligible for free FSD transfer until the end of 2024. The Cybertruck wasn't eligible before, but Tesla changed the rules today. This means you can transfer FSD for free to a new Model S/3/X/Y or Cybertruck if you take delivery by Dec 31, 2024.

Oh sweet - this basically covers for the tax credit not being available.

Sorry 2018 Model 3... I thought I might keep you as a robo taxi but this deal is tempting

Hell ya that’s gonna add $7k to my trade in offer whenever they decide to provide that pretty much. May not have to private sale after all!

No. Tesla does not credit you the full cost of FSD on trades. I think you get auto pilot.

I think they mean that they will basically get 7k additional because they won't have to pay that on the CT.

Tesla values FSD at $0 right now when trade-ins are active.

I mean when I trade in my Model 3 with FSD, will now allow me to save $7k off purchase price of the CT w/FSD. Thereby giving my FSD value for a trade in again, whereas it wouldn’t have made a difference before, requiring me to sell private party if I want any value for it.
