1993 Toyota Camry LE - Drove it like a like it was a rally car, don't know how I'm still alive.

Alright I'll play. At 16 when my dad got a company truck, I was lucky enough to end up driving his 3yr old Petty Blue 69 Chevy step-side. I had no idea how good I had it. Here's a photo of the truck my dad taught me to drive when I was 13. Yep, that's me at 5. Only 59 years ago.

Sweet truck! I'v got a 51 in my garage!
Looks like vent windows and push button handles on that one? gotta be a 52-53. If they are turn downs its a 51.. only year with turn down handles and vent windows.

My first vehicle was a 1985 Toyota Pickup 4WD. Looked a lot like the on from back to the future but it was dark grey. Tons of fun.. owned many fun vehicles between then and now.

Wow, that's cool you have a 51. I think that one was a 53. I'm currently without a pick-up, I sold my 63 Ranchero a couple years ago. Living around the beach causes some serious rust issues.

Indoors isn't so bad. My truck took a beating because I love to surf and windsurf. That truck lived at the beach. The worst is when the surf gets big and the wind comes up it can blow that salty mist a long ways. I love that smell!

Brother owed me money - I made a deal with him...get me a car that runs decent and we'll call it even.

She was a farm field find...
1.5" water pipe strapped above rear rear leaf spring for support as the frame had rusted through
Plywood cut out for floor boards (pans rusted out) - still got wet driving over puddles
Manual Transmission - didn't know how to drive a stick yet.

but a deals a deal - courted my future wife in this beauty, shifter came out of gear box while shifting from intersection while on first date- had to get towed home

Got t-boned when attempting left turn because replacement transmission shifter stuck and I turned in front of oncoming car by accident trying to unstick the shifter.

Ahhhh..... Memories!

I got a five year old '87 Honda Civic. I drove from Washington to California multiple times, out on the the back roads in Arizona where I was attending University. Nearly went everywhere the 4x4 trucks went, which drove them nuts ^-^

I lost it to a caddy that turned left into my lane and smacked me head-on. I stopped, but they didn't. Luckily it was a low-speed collision, but not one little Aesop would survive.

Had a similar experience with an ‘85 Nissan Sentra. (The off-roading, not the accident.) I could squeeze between the big rocks the trucks had to go over.

As far as my first car... it was a ‘57 Chevrolet Pickup. I pulled it out of a farmer’s field when I was 14. Spent 2 years restoring it. Really my dad did most of the work. Then I spent the next few years worrying about the paint job that we had spent years on. It had a 235 inline 6-cylinder. No power steering. No seatbelts. No airbags. No antilock brakes. The doors would randomly pop open when going around corners. It’s amazing I lived to see my second car. Thankfully it was SLOW. 0 to 60 in... well, it couldn’t go much over 55.

1965 MGB. My dad bought it new, drove it for 212,000 miles. At 15 I pulled the engine and tranny. I rebuilt the engine and had a friend rebuild the tranny. Got it running again in time for my 16th birthday when I got my driver's license on the day. Loved that car. Sold it when I had a baby on the way. I used to say it was my only regret in life - still kind of is. The pic below isn't mine, I just pulled it off the internet. Accurate except for the wire wheels, mine had steel wheels with a moon hub caps.
