I got and installed this accessory, filming the entire installation process (which is a completely different story ๐Ÿ™ƒ). I also stress tested it to make sure that it will withstand any weather.

I hope the video will help others decide whether or not they want to get this product, as the installation process is quite challenging, but the feature should have been in the truck from the beginning.

My process was significantly more challenging than it needed to be because I wanted to install the accessory with completely hidden wires on the top of the truck bed, without any damage. It took me some time to figure it out, as information on how to do it correctly is still quite limited (there are some good reviews but without specific details about the most difficult parts).

Nice. I like the Hansshow but I already tapped that power spot in the mirror for my radar detector. Probably gonna grab the Tesstudio one which takes power from a different source.

Nicely done! I have noticed that whenever my truck starts or is activated, the camera starts recording. I then have to stop it. I tried to see if there is any setting that I can change to stop this, but did not find it. Does this happen to everyone? Any ideas on how to stop it?

I don't think it's in the standard menu, but I noticed it too. It didn't bother me, so I decided to let it go. Maybe they have a "developer mode" or something similar. If needed, you can always just remove the SD card๐Ÿ˜„

Does the wider field of view have focal length distortion, which reduces depth perception?

That's what I don't like about the stock rearview camera.

I'd love a narrower field of view with a standard lens, which has a natural perspective... like a traditional review mirror.

Nicely done! Your videos are very informative, with much-appreciated details. Was the rear camera housing something that you had 3D printed, or was it included in the kit?

Thanks! You definitely need to print one, I put the link in the description. There a few other options as well, but I think this one is the best one so far (although I needed to slightly modify mine)

It is optically similar to a Tesla camera, which is fine for me. The biggest advantage, in my opinion, is that it almost never gets dirty up there, which I love. Optically, it's similar to GoPro-like cameras with some bearable distortion. The don't fix it, prioritizing the wide angle.
