I think it's going to be a tri-motor with 2 big ones in the back and a lighter-duty one in the front for on-demand torque applications, and do not think it will be a quad motor.

What other options do I need to add?
Place your bets :)

I have a different theory as an engineer.
I dont think there is room in the front for 2 motors.

The problem with Cybertruck speculation is 95% of it comes from people just making shit up, that are chomping at the bit for attention.

Take UFOs for example... it's the same thing when you bring it up. Your audience is 95% paranoid schizophrenics, 3% Cmdr David Fravor, and 2% Bob Lazar.

There's about 52cubic feet of volume under the front windscreen and dash.

Tell me how two motors won't fit in the front.

Tell me how you figure there is almost TWICE the volume of a refrigerator fitting in this area, while also not taking into account any room for suspension, steering linkage and power steering components, air-con, brake boosters, fluids, electrical components, wheel wells, and also - the driver and passenger legs???

Um just dimensions off my CT CAD drawings.

I can put the spare wheel in there on top of the Plaid motor CAD model, no probs. And you can still have space for plaid HVAC and radiator and frunk before that. Peoples legs barely reach the front wheel arches. Look at how the pedals line up with the front door frame.

It's big. It's just hiding its curves well.

52 cubic feet, under the dash?
You realize that is a lot larger than the internal dimensions of an average sized refrigerator, right?

just trying to figute out, based on that pic you shared which isn't what the current interior looks like from what I've seen, you have a lot of legroom between the wheel wells.

Who made the CAD drawings?

On December 3, 2021, Elon Musk said initial Cybertruck production would be quad-version. Maybe he's planning on stuffing 3 motors in the rear but I doubt it. It'll have 2 in the front and 2 in the rear.

The top version will be, at a minimum, a quad version. I imagine there will be another, more capable version in the future... maybe they'll reserve the Plaid moniker and have something more truckish... maybe there will be a SpaceX version that includes cold gas thrusters or maybe simply a version that replaces the under-bed storage for an intake/impeller and will be a dual-purpose version.

I really don't think we'll ever see the final best version. If the poll is "What version will be the top one when orders start shipping, well, that will be the quad version.

I'm betting it won't be a quad motor. Elon is awesome, but he also tweets a lot of wild shit too. Doesn't mean it's always going to happen. :)

I concur with these statements. CT4 will be released first. But, it will not be a "Plaid" version. That will come later and will be a higher-tier option than the initial CT4.

Well, if the Quad version is the first CT model, it will create quite a stir and quell many early reservation holders due to a much higher price point. I suppose it's a good way to slow demand until production ramps up, but I think that is a flawed strategy. Pissing customers off is never a good business move. Just ask RJ Scaringe.

He's never said anything about Tesla capability that didn't come true with the production version. At least, not that I've seen.
