I ordered shortly after the end of the event.
Position 14,646 for the Dual Motor Trim
8.91 Est delivery month.
I am a little unsure how to read this. Does this mean 8 months and 21 days (.91 x 31 days) after production start?

That would be a little disappointing, but being on the East coast, I guess that can be expected. I reserved my Model 3 minutes after opening up reservations online, but had to wait a long time after the first deliveries on the West coast.

I am highly considering changing my dual motor reservation to a tri motor. I have a possibly unfounded concern that changing my configuration at this point could alter my place in line.

I did the same thing, went from dual to tri and it kept my number and place in line. Good luck!

Thanks. Now I just need to convince my beautiful, supportive wife why any truck NEEDS to go 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds. Any helpful pointers on that front :D?

You don’t tell her you changed it from dual to trimotor and then when you get it you say, “I was POSITIVE I selected the dual motor option. However, when I checked my order history it was trimotor. It was a clerical error on my part. Fat fingers, ya know. Sorry, hun.”

Well, the easy one is this, watch Battery day next month. (crossing fingers) it's next month as it's been delayed since march due to COVID-19.

This is a YouTube channel I think everyone here should Subscribe to. It's from my experience, the best source of information you can find online. The Father and Son Duo (NowYouKnow) is the best channel for the best source everything Tesla, Space X, and Solar.

Here is the link to the Battery Day In-depth video that they have done research on.

Sanzpeur - This is what you can tell your wife and you'll understand after watching the video I linked which is something you'll want to share. The CyberTruck as well as all Tesla vehicles will have a Million Mile battery. Currently, you can get around 1,000 cycles from your current battery as there are limitations in the technology. This new Million Mile Battery will have around 5,000+ cycles which currently on 1,000 cycles is an avg of 200,000 miles before you need replacement. a 5,000 cycle is a million miles. This battery tech will transform the industry because of the number of years you will get out of your Tesla. This isn't just it too, the BIGGEST THING is you can take your Tesla and connect the Truck/Car into your home as a battery backup AND VTG. Vehicle to Grid tech that with a flip of a switch you'll sell your electric back to the grid which means you'll make money with your truck plugged into your home. If you add Solar you'll make even MORE money!.

Here is an example of what you could see but this is at a larger scale in comparison to your home.
I time stamped the video to start further into the video so you don't have to skip through. This is an example of this system works.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for what Battery Day is going to do for the world, it will open everyone's eyes to the future.

So, if anyone else has an argument as to why they should get a Tri-Motor, what you can tell your spouse is that the Tri-Motor has more Batteries and more Batteries means you'll be able to power your house longer during a power outage and you can sell electricity back to the grid and make yourself money from your Tesla.

Fortunately I don’t have to justify to my wife what I buy. Thus I ordered trimotor on the day. I put in my reservation.

My wife liked the look of the truck as soon as she saw it, took me a little longer. We were both floored by the specs.

Getting the Tri-motor and she‘s happy with that.

I’ll be turning 70 the year I get it assuming they start on time.

I just realized I was responding to a post you were responding to. *Facepalm*

I ended up correcting my original post to reflect the user I was meaning to respond to.

Just explain that your Tri Motor will cost $69,900 and you NEED to purchase the FSD ($7k) and solar panel ($3k?) options at the very minimum. You can delay that badly needed kitchen remodel 5 more years?

Thanks for the thorough response. Honestly, it is more about justifying it to myself. Do I need tri motor tow capacity and speed. Dual Motor's 10k lbs and 4.5 seconds (sure to be a little faster from Tesla's track record) seems more than sufficient. The 500 mile range on the other hand is probably the bigger selling point. To your point though, the thought of a potentially million mile battery and an indestructible body has been making me lean more toward getting the best available trim. After all, an extra $20k amortized over a million miles is just $1 extra dollar for every 50 miles. When you put it like that, it's a no brainer :D

I think the median selling price for Tri Motor models will probably hover around $85k after options. Not many buyers choose a car or truck without adding factory options or accessories and Tesla should have some awesome stuff to choose from.

I actually don't know about that. Compared to other auto makers, Tesla doesn't do all that many options. For CT, the biggest "option" is the cyber quad. I believe Elon said that the only way to get the quad was as an option to the CT. That could easily be $20K just for that.

Obviously FSD at $7k is the next big one, which I actually passed on even though I have it on my M3. It is the one piece of Tesla tech that I still think is a little ways off for my needs. I do like the adaptive cruise in traffic though, but I got FSD during the flash sale for $3k on my M3. That I think is a much more reasonable price for where it is at than $7K.

With the exception of those options, I am guessing white interior may be a small upgrade cost ($1K on M3). I would like to see a camping option and maybe a rack system add on, but I think those may come at a later date.

I haven't heard anything definitive about solar panels yet. I know Elon was down on them for automotive use previously, but as the tech gets better, maybe he will change his mind.

I have good news: Adaptive cruise is part of Autopilot, and it’s included for no additional cost on the CT.

Maybe you already knew that, but from your post I couldn’t tell.

Thanks for that. I did think I had that info back in the brain vault somewhere. That is awesome that it comes standard. It is pretty common place across the industry now.

Don't get me wrong. I like FSD and Tesla's system is light years ahead of anyone else. I just don't use it that much. I don't have many freeways near me and I still just like driving too much (especially with that instant torque). I will say, it was super convenient when using it in Shenandoah NP along Skyline Drive where I could just relax and enjoy a lot more of the scenery. I could certainly see that as a nice feature when exploring the country side in the CT.
