I am in shock! Accelerator recall delays my original delivery tomorrow!

Finally supposed to pick up my cyber truck in Kansas city tomorrow. Just got a call that there was a recall on the truck. Came in about 15 minutes ago per the person who called me. They stated that there was a problem with the accelerator and that they would know on Monday how soon parts would arrive to fix it. If this is a practical joke from a friend of mine.... It is perfect. I was so excited to finally get my cyber truck. Now just broken hearted. Argh.

Wow I am glad I don't have to pry you away from some electrical current. I was worried when I saw the title.

Stuff happens. I do wish they would prep and test diagnostics a bit more than the day before, but when we showed up for delivery there was many, and I mean many cars being prepped. Not an excuse, but I am sure it is like an assembly line, and if it doesn't pass it doesn't.

Good luck in the next couple days. I am sure you are excited as we were.

I called back to customer support once I took a cold shower and was able to string a few questions together. He confirmed that this was in fact a recall and not just a problem with my truck. He said that it was so early the media had not gotten word of the issue yet. He believed it would require a part to remedy and thought I might hear something on Monday about the timing of the arrival and subsequent installation of such part. I asked him what would have happened if I had picked the truck up today as originally stated. I assumed a mobile repair vehicle would come out and see me. He stated that I would more likely have to drive three hours to KC to have the issue remedied. To be honest that blew my mind a bit. What would happen the repair took longer than a day? How would I get home? He said something about a 100 dollar Uber credit, but then demurred quickly... I told him the worst part about this was I had just told people at St. Jude that I would be bring a cyber truck for the kids to get their pictures in.... He suggested I buy a used Toyota Corolla and tape cardboard to it at weird angles... He was trying to be funny and at this point it is a laugh or cry situation.... Still.... So sad...

Why do you assume that mobile repair would come out? Mobile repair has limited service areas and things that they can do . Three hours away from a Service Center very possibly isn't in their range.

So sorry to hear of the hold, mine is in the local Delivery Center holding lot awaiting for delivery date to be set, this suggests that it may be few more days.

I have never owned a Tesla before in my life. I guess I have hear enough good things about mobile repair units I assumed they would take care of systemic problems like this.... Again I am a total noob.
