I would like to have a joy stick instead of a steering wheel. With all the switches and buttons including throttle, integrated into the joystick.

What you're looking for is the cyber mower. But those will be GPS controlled.

For many years there has been 3rd party options for joysticks.

There are even foot steering options.

Space Drive is a system that is unrivalled in the world - a real breakthrough. It allows persons with low residual strength, a large girth, minimum movement and even those without limbs to safely drive a car. With Space Drive you activate the brake, accelerator and steering wheel (and of course all the other functions) using driving aids controlled by microprocessors. These transmit the signals in nanoseconds to two servo motors for the brake and accelerator and two others for the steering ("Drive by Wire"). We configure the single modules individually. We readjust the software and hardware on-site if your clinical picture changes.

ZF has the largest portfolio of by-wire technologies in the industry.

Electronics control the brakes, steering and other systems in the car ā€“ with no mechanical connection to the driver

.....
Soon, electronic control pulses plus actuators will be the only things moving steering systems and brakes, i.e., by wire. While the steering wheel and brake pedal will still exist, they will function like a joystick, i.e., control units the driver simply uses to trigger the electronic pulses.

Foot-operated Steering Wheel This adaptation lets you use your feet to steer the car. In short, the steering wheel function moves down to a turntable at the same level as the pedals. Terminology: A foot-operated steering wheel is also known as a foot steerer.

Finally! Someone sees the spartan Cybertruck interior and thinks "gee it's so busy, lets minimalize some more"

Sometimes a BAW is just a BAW
And then there are other times. But interesting subconscious move (from joystick to BAW). ;)

Sorry I am bored, I want a real CT review.

Just to redeem myself on joystick idea; Even though I like the look of the dash without steering wheel, there have been times that I injured my right hand/wrist (donā€™t even think about it) and being able to use my left hand to steer was helpful. Or simply picking up my coffee with my right hand while the left is steering is nice. There are folks that are left handed and being able to react a bit better with your dominant hand when stuff hit the fan could mean the difference between life and death. And then there is issue of other folks driving your stick EV or you driving theirs for the first time or infrequently out of necessity. So much of driving has become an extension of our abilities that the act of changing and the learning curve no matter how short it seems may have itā€™s own safety cost.

OK, this paragraph was my best attempt to claw my way out of the gutter but I am not sure how long I will last outside my natural habitat.

You injured your driving hand? So what, just sit in the other seat ā€” thatā€™s the beauty of joysticks!

You may have something there. With enough of us doing it, we could push up TSLA (everyone seeing us on the road will think Tesla finally achieved self driving).
