There’s precedent for Tesla both understanding this issue and addressing this issue

most recent example (steel cab, aluminum castings)

I thought it was more of a stainless issue, but in a Monroe video he discusses having to address the same issue between cab and casting?

We've literally had this conversation.

What's wrong with it, other than "it's ugly"? You have a tie-down, metal, plus strain relief and friction padding. It's just like a molded solution, except off the shelf. Did you want your car this week or two months from now, all for not having a custom molded bracket?

Seriously doubt “thousands” and if you want to continue down this path I’d love a reference for this likely made-up-fact.

It looks like something you couldn’t possibly automate so unlikely to ever be added to a Tesla assembly line.

This is almost certainly one of those things done to get the last 50-100 cars out the door at the end of a quarter.
